"Let's go!!!" my one and only best friend screamed in my ear. She's a blonde girl whose hair stops around her mid back and you can call her someone who has OCD. You never see any dirt, stain nor even a single dust in her room. She will always scream at me if she saw any thrash on the floor or even on the table. And I will gladly say that one day my eardrums are going to bleed and I'll be deaf.

"Yay!" I replied non-enthusiastically.

"Excuse me, Miss Brookes? But I do not appreciate your sarcasm!" I rolled my eyes.

"Tonight, we are going to have so much fun! I guarantee you. A lot of guys are going to look your way and you can't do anything about it." She smiled widely while looking at me. I find this look of hers very creepy even though she's my best friend. She can be really weird and creepy sometimes.

"If you say so, my dear best friend." We walked out of the door and towards her old beaten car but still reliable, her words not mine. In my opinion that car is nothing close to reliable.

When we got to the club we showed our I.D's and got inside where the music is booming. Their music volume is not healthy. This is why I don't like coming to places like this. It's so loud and you can't even hear what people are saying.

"Want some drinks?" Amelia asked.

"You of all people know that I do not drink." I stated which was replied by a shrug.

"I'm out of here cause you are such a bore."

She walked away leaving me in the middle of the club. I walked away from the crowd and sat on a stool. After a couple of minutes, watching others dancing with so much passion which, believe me is very interesting. They are just making a fool out of themselves.

When I've had enough, I walked out of the club to have some fresh air. The sound of the New York City traffic somehow calmes me.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw two men struggling with something. The first guy who is a head taller than the other seems like an intimidating man. The other one just looked like he has lost hope. I wasn't sure what it is but I am very certain that the thing that they're struggling for is something that is coloured black.

Suddenly, there was a gun shot sound from the two men. For a moment the shorter one locked his eyes with me before collapsing on the hard concrete floor.

Before my mind could process what was happening, I was pulled by a pair of strong arms and into an alley. I looked up and he has his hand on my mouth signalling that he wants me to keep quiet. I looked up his eyes and stared into his brown eyes. I couldn't see his face as it was dark. I didn't know why but I didn't feel the reason to panic. Somehow, it feels safe. Excuse me brain, but this guy here is a stranger.

After what felt like hours he let go of me. Why do I feel disapointed instead of relief? I think I'm going crazy.

I forced myself to ask him as I am also curious "Why did you pull me away and into an alley?"

He just stared at me with an are-you-kidding-me-look? "I had to."

"What do you mean you had to?"

"Let's talk about this somewhere else safe. There's a café around the corner that is still open." I nodded and we made our way to the café.

As we got in he asked me to order some drinks and I asked for a cup of green tea frappucino, my favourite. He paid and I followed him to sit on a booth at the end of the café.

"So?" I started the conversation but didn't know what to say next.

"You wanted to know the reason why I dragged you to the alley, am I right?" I nodded and he continued "You witnessed a murder and I saved you because if he saw you, you are as good as dead."

My face was plastered with shock. Murder? I witnessed a murder? But the fact that he said this with no emotion got me even more confused.

"Bu-ho-I-I-You" I stuttered before looking at him with accusations.

"Wait, are you a murderer too? A homicide? Are you here because you want to end me?"

He looked at me with shock "No! I would never kill anyone! I told you that I saved you and now you're accusing me of murder?" He stated angrily.

I felt guilty "No no look, I'm sorry. I really am. I didn't know and I really am sorry. Gosh I don't know what got into me to accuse of something as bad as murder? What is wrong with me? Oh god, kill me now. Of course you're a nice guy cause if you weren't you wouldn't have saved me. You would've just left me there and let that guy kill me. Ohh, what do I do if that situation did occur? I wouldn't be here alive and drinking green-"

He shook my shoulders "Stop! You're babbling."

"I was? I'm sorry." I looked at him.

"It's fine."

"So who is that guy?" I asked him.

He looked at me for a few seconds before replying "My guess is he's some sort of mafia or something. But surely not a very nice man."

I nodded "I didn't get the chance to thank you so, thank you for saving me."

I smiled for the first time that night. He just nodded in return. The nerve of this guy. "Well, the least you could say is you're welcome."

He just stared at me. What the heck is his problem? First, you just nodded when I said thank you and when I tried to show him real manners, He's just sitting there looking at me? By the looks of his clothes which consists of a black suit but slightly wrinkled and those shiny shoes that rich people always wear, he must be a rich kid who gets everything that he wants without having to work for it.

"Look if you're done looking at me, I have to go." I stated in an annoyed tone.

"It's just that you look familiar." He said. "Well, you know what? I get that a lot. So if you'll excuse me,I will get going."

I didn't wait for his reply and started to walk away and out of the café. I didn't walk far before someone grabbed my wrist.

"Do you mind if I take you home?" Really? He wants to take me home? The snobby kid wants to take me home? But why?

"No it's fine. I'll just call my friend."

After calling Amelia for like the hundredth time, I gave up and I gave in.

We walked to his car which wasn't far. And when we got to his car, an Audi R8 to be exact I couldn't help but stare at amazement. What, a girl can dream right?

When we arrived in front of my apartment which I shared with Amelia I looked at him "Thank you, for everything." He nodded which to my dismay.

As I entered the apartment, My mind went to Amelia and I hope that she is safe not that she can't take care of herself or anything.

But then, my thoughts went back to the encounter that I had with the snobby kid and I realized that we didn't exchange our names. Oh well...

Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door.
