"Leyla, for the last time, will you marry me?"
I looked up and saw that everyone in the diner was looking at me and waiting for my response. The waitress gave me a dirty look. Well, too bad.
I took a deep breath and said "Yes."
He smiled before crushing me in his hug. He's hugging me really tight like he never wanted to let me go. In the distance, I heard people cheering for us and giving us smiles. Some even came up to us to congratulate us. I mean its not like we're getting married because of love. That thought saddened me, knowing that I won't be getting married because of love. Everyone dreamed of marrying the one. Well, not me obviously.
"Now, I want you to meet my parents." he stated, making me panic. "Don't worry they'll love you."
He smiled making me less panic. I nodded and we started to make way back to his car.
As we arrived at his parents house, well a mansion to be more precise I couldn't help but to let out a wow. He chuckled at my response which I ignored and continued to be mystified by the mansion that stood in front of me.
He opened the door for me and we made our way towards the mansion. He rang the doorbell and after a few minutes the door opened revealing a woman in her early forties.
"Liam honey, what brings you-" she paused, looking at me "My, who do we have here?"
"Mom, this is Leyla, my fiancée. Leyla, this is my mother, Margaret." he introduced me to his mother.
"Hello, you have a lovely house." I complimented.
She widened her eyes and suddenly pulled me in for a hug. "You have no idea how happy I am."
I smiled but felt guilty that we were lying to her. Maybe, just maybe, we could make this work and wouldn't have to lie to them anymore. But do I want to grow old with Liam?
She pulled away from the hug and gestured for us to get inside. The house was more beautiful on the inside. It looks like any other mansion houses but in my opinion, this looks way better.
We sat on the sofa in the living room and she asked us a lot of irrelevant questions such as was the traffic bad. I didn't expect her to ask us about traffics. It didn't go long until she asked us 'the' question. "When do you plan on getting married?"
I looked at Liam and he looked back at me "The sooner the better right, Leyla?"
"Yeah, the sooner the better." I gave him a questioning look.
"Great Leyla, we have a lot to do. Dress fitting, bridesmaids fitting, venue, the cake, the theme, the-"
She was interrupted by her son "Mom, please don't get ahead of yourself. I mean, we haven't even chosen the date yet."
She started to look at me for a long time which I tried to make a silent conversation with Liam, but it was impossible because his face had no expression.
"Where is her ring?" She asked.
"We uh-we sent it to-to be cleaned." He stuttered.
"Cleaned or polished?"
"Isn't it like the same thing?" he asked.
She nodded. "So Leyla, do you work?"
I wanted to reply but I was rudely interrupted. "No mom, she doesn't work. I spoiled her to much."
I glared at him "Did you really have to lie? Especially to your mother? As a matter of fact, I'm a waitress and I have nothing to be ashamed of."
"I love you that you are very honest. Unlike my son, here. All he ever do is lie to me and he never visits us and he's always busy with work. Maybe he has been lying to me about you too." she complained.
"Maybe he just wants me for himself." I winked at him. Where did that come from. I never had the guts to do this to anyone else, not even my bestfriend.
We started laughing when Liam acted like he was sulking. He was so adorable. And those lips. What would it feel like if his soft lips were to touch mine? It will be magical, for sure.
The door being opened was heard and two voices talking to each other were heard from the distance.
"We're home!" a girl yelled making Margaret yell back "We're in the living room!"
"Who's we, mo-" she stopped and looked at us. She appears to be my age or maybe even younger and she is very beautiful, like her mother. Beside her, stood a man in his late forties that is still handsome, despite his age.
She made her way towards us "Hey, bro! Long time no see!"
"Hey, Sam." he replied casually. Her sister pulled him in for a hug and after some minute, she looked at me and said "So, who is this?"
"Sam this is my fiancée, Leyla."
"What? You're getting married? I thought that you'll never get married and spend the rest of your lives alone." she giggled.
"I'm not lonely! I have friends!" he grumbled but was ignored by his sister.
"Hey, Leyla. I'm Samantha, but everyone is too lazy so they just calls me Sam. No big deal."
"Nice to meet you, Samantha." I said.
"So, you're the girl that had captured my son's heart?"
"Dad, why are you so corny?" Sam grumbled but was ignored.
"Yes, I guess you could call it that way." I replied.
"Leyla, I'm Michael and it was nice meeting you but I have some things to sort out with my son. So,if you'll excuse me." he gestured for his son to follow him.
I nodded.
"I'll be back in a while." he stood up and kissed my forehead before following his father. My heart did a somersault when he kissed me. Even though, it was short and it was a kiss on the forehead and not on my lips it still felt amazing.
"So Leyla, when are you guys planning to get married?" this question was instantly replied by Margaret "They haven't even set a date yet but-"
I was too far away thinking of Liam's lips that was on my forehead moments before. It felt amazing. Why am I constantly thinking about him? Do I have feelings for him? But it would be impossible because we have only met each other for a few days. But maybe it's just a crush or do I feel something even more?
