Song: If I Could Tell Her - Dear Evan Hanson (the Broadway Musical)

Albert sees Race walk past him. He rounds the corner and leans against the wall of the school building.

JoJo and Elmer come over to him, confused.
"You good Al?"

"He's just so- perfect" Albert responds, smiling dreamily as he zones out, looking into the sky.

JoJo and Elmer smirk at each other.

"How so?" Elmer asks as JoJo pulls out his phone.

Albert starts singing.

I said
There's nothing like his smile
Sort of subtle and perfect and real
I said
He never knew how wonderful
That smile could make someone feel

JoJo and Elmer grin at each other, as Albert sticks his hands in his pockets, kicking a rock and smiling as he continues.

And I knew
Whenever he get bored
He scribbles stars on the cuffs of his jeans
And I noticed
That he still fills out the quizzes
That they put in those teen magazines

Albert stops for a minute, as he sees Race doodling in his notebook across the campus yard. He sighs to himself, running his hands through his hair.

But I kept it all inside my head
What I saw I left unsaid

Albert frowns to himself, as JoJo and Elmer look at him sadly.

He walks around a little more, and sees Race walking. Race stops, grinning, and waves at Albert, who waves back, wanting to speak to him, but he couldn't.

He starts singing again.

And though I wanted to
I couldn't talk to him
I couldn't find the way
But I would always say

He sits down on the bench next to JoJo and Elmer, pulling his knees to his chest.

If I could tell him
Tell him everything I see

Albert points to Race, as he continues singing.

If I could tell him
How he's everything to me

Albert raises his voice a little bit, Mike and Buttons come over. JoJo and Elmer quickly kiss them, before explaining, as Albert starts singing again.

But we're a million worlds apart
And I don't know how I would even start
If I could tell him
If I could tell him

He stops for a second, as JoJo speaks up.

"Do you want to add anything else?" JoJo asks Albert, who turns to him, confused.

"A—about him?" Albert asks. Elmer mentally facepalms.

"Never mind, I don't really care anyways—" JoJo mumbles, apologizing. Albert stops him; he knew JoJo was worried about pushing people too far/getting in trouble/hurting someone all the time.
