Fairies? Do they really live in the nature? Then, why don't they show up? Is it because of the fear of being harmed? Or is it because they are afraid of getting attached to a human because of their short life time? People knew that fairies grant wishes but why don't they show up to grant everyone's?
That is what is in the mind of the little girl, Ozeki Rika, right now while staring at the river from the shore she is sitting at. From the stories her mother have red to her since she was a baby, fairies are the friendliest when it comes to humans. They grant everyone's wishes no matter how many wishes they have unlike genies who will only make you pick 3.
Deep in thoughts, she was surprised when a pair of hands gripped onto her shoulders. It was none other than her bestfriend, Oshima Yuko. "Boo! You are alone again. Why not play with us?" Risa invited enthusiastically. "Fuuchan and Shiichan finally found a place where we can get food for free, you know?" Risa added.
Ozeki sighed then look at her 1 mon. It sure is not enough to buy food for her whole family. After all, their village is poverty-stricken. "Risa, I don't want to get food by stealing anymore. I hate being a thief despite being poor." she gripped onto her hair on threw her last money on the river. "I hate this life.. I hope we have someone who will grant our wishes." the child cried to her heart's extent.
Risa can't help but feel bad. She herself is living in a poverty and have no chance but to accept their faith. They have to fight their lack of money instead of following their parents to the other village and go under slavery.
While the two friends are in deep thoughts, the river miraculously starts to dry out. Ozeki panicked at what's happening. Risa widened her eyes, horrified. At the last drops, it formed a body. A body of a long haired teenage woman. One blink of their eyes, the mysterious woman have finally finished its last form. She was like a body of water transformed into the naked flesh of a human.
The two poor girls cannot believe what they just encountered. Should they run and forget what they just saw? But they couldn't move. The both of them just froze in front of the mysterious woman.
Ozeki tried to speak but her voice won't go out. She trembled for the scene shocked her big time. The stranger stared at her with a blank expression,
"Let me hear your wishes."
Risa swallowed her pride on keeping her words in. "Why would we tell you? Just who are you and what are you?!" Risa asked with her raspy loud voice, gulping after that. Who would recklessly yell at someone who appeared as a water before her eyes? What if the woman is a monster?
"Me? Who am I?" The woman tilted her head, still wearing the blank expression on her face. "Who am I?" The stranger repeated before looking at her hands, opening and closing it. "I am your wish." She answered.
Both frowned, dissatisfied with her answer. "We didn't wish for an indescribable creature." Risa clenched her fists. "We just want to get out of this cruel fate! This poverty!" She yelled and was about to attack the girl when Ozeki stopped her.
"Risa, this won't solve our current situation." Ozeki pressed her lips together then offers the blanket she was using earlier while watching the river that doesn't exist now to the stranger. "Cover yourself with that. We will give you clothes in our house."

After a long walk from the river to the streets of Sawara, Chiba, they have finally reached a ruined house made out of wood that may fall anytime.
Entering the house, they met a blind Minami, malnourished Aoi, beaten up Fuyuka, dirty Shiori, hungry Rika and a frustrated Manaka. And after entering that house, Risa glared at the stranger. "Now, tell me. How will you grant our wish?"
