After they went in the house, I read my book. It was called Tæls of Dëäth. It described in great detail how people called the Æncients were murderers. It was very enjoyable. But sadly, I wasn't able to focus on it. That girl. Who was she? Then, my mom called me down. "Axel, let's go over to meet our new neighbors. Come on down. It's unhealthy for you to shut yourself in your room. Get dressed in something appropriate please." I sighed as I got up off my bed. I chose to wear a t-shirt that had probably seen better days and black leggings. I combed my hair back away from my eyes with my fingers. I looked in the mirror quickly before I grabbed my coat. Then, after a moment's hesitation, I slipped Tæls of Death in the pocket.
Who knows, the new neighbors might be quite boring.
"Is Mindy coming?" I asked.
"No, honey," my mom called back.
Then, I walked down the stairs and my mother smiled as she made brownies to take to the house. She pulled me along the road. It was very cold outside, and my coat seemed insubstantial compared to the overwhelming frigid air. My mother walked to the door and knocked on the door. A girl opened it. The same girl that had run into the house. Her auburn hair was long, to her waist. Her eyes were a shade of brown that I had never seen before. She was slender, and immediately when I laid my eyes on her, I knew I wanted to stay with her forever. Her personality was behind those eyes and I could tell who she was. That is, but I still didn't know her name. My mother pushed past her very rudely, and I smiled.
