After Stella Jade, I was still talking with the others. Tarisa was telling me that I had to come there after school.

"But my mom..."

"She'll be fine."

"I can't do this. Stella had the right idea. I'm not some god-king."

"We are offering you insolent children a chance to become gods, and you decline?!!"

"I'm sorry. I'll still come. I just... I don't understand."

I walked out the front and saw Stella lying there on the grass. "Are you okay?" I asked.

"Do you think I'm okay?"

I lay down beside her.

"You don't have to be okay, Stella."

"If I'm not, they'll take me back. They'll think they got the wrong girl."

"I don't think you're the wrong girl. You seem like a Naira."

"They made me a Naira. My parents I mean. I was born in Salem, Massachusetts. I was raised in the UK, in a little city called Wiltshire. I had a British accent. But, they changed me. They told me that if I slipped and said anything remotely British, I would be killed. They then died. They made me Naira Quetzalli. I didn't ask for this."

I reached a hand over, but when I made contact, she punched me in the face. "Sorry, you took me by surprise."

I panted and touched my bloody lip. "You didn't have to hit me."

She had the tiniest smile. "It's quicker."

"And you enjoy it."

Even though she had hurt me multiple times, for some reason I was still attracted to her. She was unnaturally beautiful, sure, but there was something else, something mysterious. "I can heal your lip, just come here." She patted the seat next to her. I sat down. She put her finger on my lip. I could feel it healing. "Thank you," I whispered, noticing her touch on my lip. Stella drew back and stood up. "You're welcome. Now you should go home."

When I got home, my mother was watching TV. "Hey Axel. Good night."

"Good night." I walked up to my room and was trying to find Tæls of Death, but then I realized it was in my coat at Stella's house. Oh well. I would see them tomorrow. Oh shoot, school was tomorrow. Oh no.
