I woke up to someone clattering down in the kitchen. I got dressed in a dark blue blouse and black leggings before I opened my door and walked down the stairs. "Hey Tarisa, do you know where my backpack is?" I asked.
"It's in the front. I put your lunch in it. I felt bad about what happened yesterday."
"It's fine."
I walked to the bus stop. I sat there, on my phone for a while. Then, someone came up behind me. I turned around. It was Axel. "I didn't think I'd see you here, Stella."
"I'm going to school."
"Are you sure you should?"
I pushed past him and chose a different spot to sit. He followed, annoyingly. "I—," he started to say.
"You don't have any right to tell me what I should do."
Some kid pushed flyers into our chests at the stop. OUIJA BOARD EXPERIENCE @ SAMUEL DELANEY'S HOUSE, 1310 ALPINE DRIVE, 4:00 DECEMBER 11 AFTER SCHOOL
I took the flyer and Axel looked at me. "We're not allowed to go, Tarisa and Major said," he said.
"Screw them."
I looked at the date. "I'm going, Axel, and you can't stop me, no matter what you say."
"It's the third day of school. I'm going with you."
"No."
"Why?"
I pulled him aside and whispered angrily, "you're a freaking newborn witchangel."
"So what?"
I didn't get to answer because the bus got there. He was so annoying. When I chose my seat on the bus, he sat next to me. "So what is an Ouija board experience?" He asked. A boy that was sitting behind us walked in front. "Do you not know what a Oujia board is, Alone Axel?!" He sneered,
"I well know what a Oujia board is, I'm not stupid."
"Are you sure about it?"
The boy noticed me. "Nice girlfriend, Axel. Guess she was the only one you didn't chase off."
Axel was turning red when we drove to school. I remained silent. I pulled out the piece of paper with my schedule on it. This is what it said.
Dear Stella Jade,
Welcome to our school, Oak Bluffs Middle School. This is your schedule.
Orientation; Room 10
French; Room 58
Social Studies; Room 36
Choir; Room 3
LUNCH; (Room 1)
Geometry; Room 23
Language Arts; Room 45
World History; Room 56
P.S. My name is Sam Delaney. You should come to my party. I like pretty girls
I sighed. I thought this was stupid, but I really wanted to go for some odd reason. Maybe because it would help me to get friends. As we were driving, Axel noticed my schedule. He looked at me, confused. "Stella, we have all of the same classes together." He pulled out another sheet. I thought it was strange that we had all of these classes together. Then it hit me: Tarisa. Of course she would work some sort of magic to apologize. When we got to the school, Axel and I walked straight to Orientation. Then the teacher said, "Hello, everyone, how are you all doing right now?" There were some murmurs of "Good," and the rebels saying "No." "We will organize you all into groups. The first group is Sasha, Ilena, Tyrone and Sam. Second group is Hannah T, Hoa, Kate,Jennifer, and Andy. Third group is Stella Jade, Axel, Kharyne, Micael and Jacob." I smiled at the other members of our group. Kharyne had coffee-colored skin and icy blue eyes. Jacob saw me and his mouth dropped open. He had dark hair and green eyes that were so dark they were almost black. I inhaled and drew back, startled. Jacob was a witchangel, whether he knew it or not. We all sat and played an introductory game, and then we went to our classes.
