POV: HARRY
"Harry there's a letter here for you" I heard my godfather yell. I ran down the stairs of 12 Grimmauld Place, almost colliding with my Uncle Moony at the bottom of the stairs. I ran into the Kitchen.
"Morning Padfoot, you said I have a letter?" I heard the movement of parchment and Sirius passed me a letter. Almost instantly I recognised the ruby red stamp sealing the letter. It was from my second home: Hogwarts.
"I wonder why Hogwarts has sent me a letter?" I questioned, glancing at my Uncles who appeared to be sharing knowing glances.
I tore open the envelope only to be met with a familiar handwriting, a handwriting I first read almost 7 years ago on my 11th Birthday, one I had grown accustomed to throughout my 7 years at Hogwarts. The letter read...

Dear Mr Potter,
How are you holding up since our last meeting? I'm writing to invite you to come back to Hogwarts to partake in an 8th year, in order to get you fully prepared for the outside world. The school term will start on the 1st of September and I have enclosed the list of supplies you will need if you choose to continue and finish your education. Please return your reply via owl. I look forward to seeing you if you chose to return.
Professor Minerva McGonagall
Headteacher of Hogwarts a School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

I was so excited; I was going to go back to Hogwarts. I passed the letter to Moony who smiled at me and motioned for Padfoot to join him outside. I heard them murmuring for a couple of moments, then they came back and sat down.
"Do you want to go back, I mean, will you be okay going back there, especially after everything that happened in May?" Moony asked.
"Moony, Padfoot, I'll be fine. I want to go back; it'll be good for me. I get why you're worried, but I need to get out of this house."
"Okay Pup, if that's what you want!" Padfoot smiled as I stood up and tucked my chair under the table.

I closed my bedroom door as I heard a tapping at the window. As I opened my window the Weasley-Granger owl (Dave) flew in dropping a small package and a letter onto my desk, then proceeding to fly off. The package was a box Honeydukes chocolate, my birthday present. 3 days late. Even my card from Charlie in Romania arrived on my actual birthday! But better late than never, I guess?

Harry,
Happy 18th birthday mate. Sorry it's a bit late, been busy helping 'Mione write her CV to get a job in the MoM. I submitted my application for the Aurors program yesterday, you did as, well didn't you? I take it you got that letter from McGonagall, you're crazy if you even think about going back, even 'Mione said she didn't want to go back. 'Mione, not wanting to go back to school, I know I was just as shocked as you are mate. Messes up her life calendar apparently, we thought she was joking when she told us that in 5th year, but she really wasn't.
How's Sirius and Remus? Mum is coping after Percy's death. George is waiting at Fred's side in Mungos, Healers say he'll be awake by the end of the week so that's good.
Anyways write back, not seen you since the start of June, meet up in the Leaky Cauldron in September? 'Mione sends her love mate.
Ron

Oh, I completely had forgotten about the Auror program deadline. I'll have to enter again next year. I guess now, it's even more of an excuse to go back to Hogwarts now, need to fill the time. I got a piece of parchment and wrote back.

Hiya Ron and Hermione,
Thanks for the chocolate. I'll have to hide that, full moon's in a couple of days! Well I must be crazy then as I'm going back. No need to panic Hermione, I'll be fine. Yeah, I know we wanted to join the Auror program together Ron, but I think I need to go back. Some sort of closure maybe? I don't really know. I just feel drawn back. I won't be completely alone, Ginny and Luna will be there, even if me and Gin aren't together anymore.

Ginny and I broke up in June. It was a mutual decision, we drifted after the war and decided that we felt more connected as siblings than in a relationship. It also didn't help that she was questioning her sexuality, I think Luna is helping her with that.

Remus is getting stronger daily and Sirius seems to be doing better. I think it helps having 'his Moony' back home with us rather than him being stuck in St Mungos. Send your mum our love, and George. Yep, we need to meet up, but it'll have to be Christmas now if you guys can't meet before September.
Tell Hermione good luck from me and keep me posted. Love you guys!
Harry

In the war, Remus, being a werewolf, got tortured for not joining Moldy Voldy's side. Sirius found him slumped against a wall and took him to Madam Pomfrey who took him straight (*cough*gay*cough*) to St Mungos. Sirius was worried sick yet still came back to fight alongside me. He was there when Molly killed Bellatrix, (he applauded the loudest especially since she almost killed him in my 5th year). He watched his niece Tonks die protecting Moony. And he stood beside me as I killed Voldemort. When it was over, he ran to Moony's bedside and stayed there pretty much until Moony was allowed to go home.

I left my room and went downstairs. Sirius passed me in the corridor.
"Pup, please let me come with you shopping in Diagon Ally. I wasn't around for obvious reason until 6th year and then I still couldn't come with you but now I can"
"Of course Padfoot, I'd love that" Sirius beamed and walked off, probably to tell Moony how he was finally getting to go to Diagon Ally with me!
I went to bed that night anxious and nervous yet excited as I was going to go home, even if I didn't have my friends with me this time.
