Thursday morning came quickly, and I hadn't spoke to George in the last couple of days. It was horrible. Even when we saw each other he wouldn't even make the effort to smile. I tried to brush it off the best I could and continue with the day. I had been working alone in the shop, and George would stay up in his office.
After work, Ginny and Hermione came over, I locked up and they helped me get ready. Hermione done my hair whilst Ginny did my makeup and we more or less spoke about George. "So why haven't youse spoke? Did youse fall out?" Hermione asked me curling my hair. "He's just been avoiding me the past month, so I looked into other jobs to see if I was better of else where and he found out. He hasn't spoke to me since" I sighed Ginny gave me a sad smile. "He's gone through a lot, maybe he just doesn't know how to handle it" Ginny told me. "Well I guess there is more to the story..." I felt quite uncomfortable talking to Ginny about what had happened, but who else could I tell. I explained to them about the day where we may have almost kissed. "Yeah he just doesn't know how to deal with girls, it used to be Fred that helped him" Ginny explained applying finishing touches to my makeup. "Yeah I know, but you don't avoid them, that's rule 101" Hermione argued. "You're right" Ginny sighed. They gave me the clothes they had choose out for me, which was a pair of jeans and a nice top, and I went to get ready.
"What do youse think?" I stood out. I felt pretty uncomfortable with what I was wearing, it was way out of my comfort zone. They both smiled. "You look amazing!!" Ginny told me, Hermione nodded her head in agreement. "Great" I sighed looking at my watch. "I still have time I'll just walk down" I said putting my jacket on. We headed down and unfortunately bumped into George on the way down. "Where are you going dressed like that?" George asked. Wow the first thing you say to someone you haven't spoken too in months. Hermione scoffed grabbing me and pulling me past him. "Sorry George but Tina has a date tonight, so we have to get going" Hermione and Ginny flicked their hair and dragged me down stairs. "How dare he!" Ginny shouted coming out the store. "Ignorant, that's what that was" Hermione said to Ginny. "Thanks guys" I told them. We said our goodbyes then I headed to meet Oliver.
He was already stood outside the shop and smiled when he saw me. "You look amazing" he told me kissing my cheek. "Thanks" I laughed awkwardly. Come on Tina new you. You aren't that shy girl from school anymore. "You don't look too bad you're self" really that's what you came out with? He laughed and grabbed my hand and we apperated outside 3 Broomsticks. "Drink?" He asked as we walked in. "Butter beer, I'll go find us a table" I told him as he went to order. I sat down near the back and waited for him to come back.
"So where are you working now?" He asked taking a sip of his drink. "Oh I work for George at his store" I smiled. "One of the best beaters he was, shame about his brother"
"Yeah he seemed like a good guy" I said
"How is George?" He asked me. Why did I always have to get onto the conversation of George, I was with Oliver to get away from him not talk more about him. "He's getting there" I told him taking a drink. We spoke for a couple of hours about everything. Well everything to do with him, He enjoyed showing off. "Listen I better get going" he told me standing up, I stood up too. "Well Thankyou for the drinks" I smiled to him. "No problem, I hope to see you soon!" He pulled me into a hug. "Yeah definitely" I said grabbing my bag. "Well goodnight Tina" he smiled apperating away. Thanks for walking me home, I thought to myself. I appreated in front of the store. I didn't even want to go in. I took a seat on the step and sighed. When will I ever feel normal. Maybe I should just pack up and go to Romania with Charlie. It would most certainly be easier. My first date and it wasn't great. It's like he just wanted to show off to me, he didn't actually care about anything I said.I sat outside for about half an hour just thinking about everything. "Tina?" I looked up to see George behind me. I turned around not really wanting to talk to him. "What do you want?" I asked looking out at the stars. "How was you're date?" He asked sitting next to me. I laughed slightly. "Okay I suppose" why was he speaking to me. He hasn't spoke to me in a month. He hadn't even tried. "Who was it with?" He asked "Oliver Wood" I told him. He looked confused. "Oliver Wood" he started to laugh. "What?" I asked him. "He's the worse" he told me. I furrowed my eyebrows and stood up. "Well I'm glad you think my first ever date with a boy is 'the worse' George, and for the record, it was a bad date. Thankyou for reminding me" I stood up and walked upstairs through to the flat and left him outside. I slammed my bedroom door shut and sat on my bed. "Aghhhhh" I screamed into my pillow. I can't do this! Why can't I be a normal person! Why do I have to be me!
'He is the worse you know' Fred thought.
I smiled. I could hear Fred again. My only friend at this rate. "He was my first date" I sighed laying back onto the bed.
'George should've been you're date' he thought
"George is avoiding me" I told him.
'Oh'
I felt a hand around my shoulder and my eyes went wide. "Do you feel that? Are you hugging me?" I asked him
'I am'
"Thanks for being my friend" I smiled lying down which seemed to be his shoulder. "I'd look like a right tit if George walked in now" I said laughing. I sat like that for a while before I felt him slowly disappear. "Goodnight" I told him, my eyes got heavy and I started to fall asleep myself.
