"I love you too Smith." Breanna said as she cut the call.

The first three weeks of her relationship had been the best time of her life.

They had gone on three more dates:
The Arcade , The famous Jack McElhone Restaurant and bowling.

Bowling was her best date so far apart from their first of course.

She loved Smith even more everyday, he seemed to her the perfect guy.

One afternoon, Breanna called Smith. Someone picked the call but didn't say a word, she could only hear voices at the background.
Since the call, she didn't hear from Smith.

"My birthday is only two days away and I haven't heard from Smith!" Breanna cried to Taylor.
"Relax, he's probably just very busy."
"He is?"
" Yeah, he is." Taylor gave her cousin a very reassuring smile. "Have you gone over to his house to check on him?"
"Yess! There's no one there."
"They probably just went on a vacation. It's summer hols you know."

Taylor tried her best to sound calm, deep down she knew something must be wrong but she didn't want to see Breanna worry too much.

"If he went on a vacation, then why didn't he tell me?"
"I don't know, probably didn't want you to miss him too much,"Taylor replied, " look, Brea, Smith is fine. Rest assured he'll have called you if there was an issue. Your birthday is in two days, let's have something planned. A party?"
"But I don't want a party."
"You don't? You've always wanted a sweet sixteen like mine, what happened to all the excitement?"
"It's gone,just like Smith left."
"Brea, don't talk like that. You're throwing the best sweet sixteen birthday party and it's happening right here in my house."
"Okay,"
"Now smile, Smith is going to be back alright?"
"Yeah right,"

Breanna gave a weak smile. She was worried. She had had a fight with Smith and she had called then to apologize. She was scared he had silently broken up with her.

That'll be the worst break up ever

That night, she cried herself to sleep realizing she wasn't ready to lose him.

Everyone except Smith came for Breanna's sweet sixteen. Breanna had met Julian at the party. Apparently, he got the invite from Taylor.

"Hi, I'm Julian, Smith's best friend" went a thick Australian accent like Kiara's only more masculine.

Julian apologized on behalf of Smith for not showing up for the party.

"...I do not know the reason for his absence though, I haven't spoken to him in a while but I know it wouldn't have been intentional."

Julian looked like a good guy. He's eyes told her he could be trusted.

"Smith and his family went to Melbourne about two weeks ago."
" Why?"
" I don't know, didn't say."
Breanna felt bad Smith hadn't thought to tell her he was leaving.
"He must have been upset with me."
"He must but he definitely still loves you."

Julian seemed to relieved Breanna a lot from all the anxiety.

"Smith'll probably be back by next week when school resumes."
"Thanks"
"It's okay, you can get my number from your cousin Taylor, call me if any issues."

Breanna waited patiently for Smith to get back, but he didn't come that week or the next. She left so many voice messages and texts but no replies. She spent most of time with Kiara trying to get her mind off the whole drama.

That week, Taylor's mum, Aunt Martha returned from her trip to Beijing after being away for three months. Breanna with her mum and Stan visited.

This of course have Breanna and Taylor sometime to talk about the 'Smith Issue'.

"I'm sorry Brea but let's face it, the communication in your relationship is gone." Taylor said half convinced Breanna was going to burst into tears.

She began to stroke her hair slowly in a bid to console her.

"I believe you should take your time out from all of this," she continued, "school will resume on Monday, you'll be very occupied with work and I don't want you stressing over some guy if he's not feeling the same way about you."

Breanna listened silently to Taylor, trying to figure out where this conversation was headed.

"Breanna, I think you should leave Smith a break up message."
"A break up?"

Her relationship with Smith was only a month and three weeks old, it sounded too soon to go down the break up train. She definitely wasn't ready.

"Not now Taylor. I don't want to break up."

Tears filled her eyes as she thought of breaking up. She blinked in an attempt to push them back but they only trickledown. She couldn't help it.

"Breanna, wipe those tears. Please don't cry. Listen, you didn't get me right,"Taylor took pause to wipe her cousin's eyes, "you're not exactly gonna break up. I just want you to find out if he still loves you ,that's all. It's just so you'd be sure you're not...you know...wasting your time."

Taylor took a deep breath tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Look," she said, now putting on a straight face, "Smith is far away in Melbourne and he hasn't called you or texted, it's possible something bad could have happened to him and it's possible he found a girl in Melbourne. I just want you to tell him that you've been trying to get through to him but it looks like he's not ready to make out time for you. Tell him you're better off without him if he isn't ready to speak to you,let alone, spend time with you."
"Taylor, are you sure about this?"
"Of course. If he truly loves you,he'll explain everything to you and everything will be fine, trust me."
