"So who's the guy we're going shopping for?"

Breanna had asked Freddie to keep her company at the mall while shopping for a nice gift for Smith.

Kiara would have been her shopping partner but these past few days, she had been distant.

"Smith's my ex."

"Your ex?!" Freddie was taken aback.

"What's with the reaction? Smith and I are still friends."

"Or that's what you wanna believe?" He gave her a very questioning look.

"Noooo! We're still friends," She said, trying to reassuring herself.

"Keep saying it until you believe it," Freddie replied.

"What? We're friends. A little break up can't split us up."

"Okay Brea. When last did you guys speak to each other?"

Breanna looked down, her voice became light and sad, "when we broke up."

"I'm sorry Breanna. If you really wanna buy him a gift like Breanna - with - a- good- heart, then go ahead. The knittwitt doesn't know what his missing out on."

Freddie felt bad he had sprung up sad memories. The sad look on her face disheartened him.

"Freddie, you never used to say words like 'knittwitt'. You've changed a lot but I still love you anyways." She said giving him a side hug.

Breanna finally got Smith a birthday gift. It was expensive but worth it.

"Brea, it's Friday night, do you seriously want me to drop you off at home." Freddie asked.

"Yeah, where else should I be?"
"You should be spending time with an old friend."
"True, but where would we be headed?"
"Let me take you somewhere cool."

After a fifteen minutes ride around Chippendale, Breanna found herself at Club 18+ .

"Freddie?"
"What?"
"Freddie we're not eighteen."
"So..."
"So what are we doing here?"
"Just follow me Breanna."

Freddie had a fake ID claiming he was 18, so they got in the club.

Breanna had never been to such a wild party before. She had never even been to a club. Her kind of parties were house parties with people she knew.

"Since when did you like parties Freddie?"

It seemed like the shy cute boy she had been friends with in Las Vegas had become so different.

It was like she didn't know him at all. He rode an expensive car, had expensive cologne on and partied like a wild beast.

His parents couldn't even afford to get him good stuffs when they were little. Her dad used to feed them both.

Where did he get all this money from?

"Freddie, I'm not comfortable here; I'll be in the car."
"Piglet wait! Don't be a sucker, let's dance."

He said grabbing her by her waist.

"Freddie I'll be in the car." She said pulling herself from his hold.

She walked off. Freddie followed her behind trying to talk to her. They both got in the car.

"Look Breanna..."

"Freddie please! I don't even know you anymore. I mean this isn't the Freddie I knew. You've changed so much. I'm...I'm not used to the new you. You've become a stranger Freddie. You were usually calm, quiet, shy and it was cool. That's the Freddie I know, not this guy who only came yesterday and already knows the coolest club in Chippendale. Isn't it strange?"

Breanna took a deep breath preparing herself to say more to him.

"Freddie honestly ...."

"I've changed a lot I know," he cut in, "It's just that the way I lost my parents. It's been so hard Brea. I decided to change my lifestyle and enjoy what life could offer while I'm still alive. Losing my parents broke me Brea. I didn't see it coming."

Freddie broke into soft sobs.

Breanna could see the face of her old lost friend. She felt really bad she had questioned him. She hugged him for a while trying to sympathize with him.

He slowly raised his head up, staring at Breanna for a few seconds.

Then,he kissed her.

He kissed her with a lot of love and affection.

She hadn't felt such passion in months.

She kissed him back.

He wrapped his hands around her, already deep in the moment when suddenly she pulled away.

"I'm so sorry Freddie,"
"I'm sorry. That was too quick."
"Let's just call it a little mishap."
"Mishap?"

Freddie felt completely offended because he honestly liked the kiss but he couldn't say a thing to her.

"Let me drop you off."

The ride home was awfully quiet. It really upset Breanna that she had kissed Freddie.

She  didn't want this.

She didn't want to date another guy, not yet.

"Bye Freddie."
"Yeah bye."

Breanna bounced into her bed heaving the most miserable sigh she could let out.

She decided to review Elsie's blog. It was Smith's birthday tomorrow.

She wanted to have an idea of what Smith's party was going to look like this year.

She had never been to any of his parties, although the posts from his parties always gave her an idea on how wonderful the party would be.

She saw pictures of Smith's pool, the fancy bar and his wonderful living room with a pool table.

How she really wanted to attend thus party!

"Oh well, let's see the guest list I'm definitely not on."
She wasn't surprised about the names on the list.

The members of the lacrosse team, Julian, Elsie, Lorraine, Tracy, Maggie....

All of these names didn't surprise her until she saw Kiara's name on the list.

Breanna stared frantically at her phone.

She wiped her fave repeatedly just to be sure she saw right.

"Kiara?"

It was very confusing. She wasn't sure how Kiara had made the list and she didn't.

"Should I call her to confirm?"

She was about to dial Kiara's number when she paused.

"She'll probably be asleep. I'll go to her place tomorrow."

*       *     *

But Kiara wasn't asleep, she was busy preparing for the big party tomorrow. She had decided to attend Smith's party. She wanted to spend time with him again just like the past few days.

Her only problem was keeping Breanna from finding out she was attending.

She knew anyway that Breanna must have seen her name by now on the guest list but she had already cooked up the perfect excuse or "a lie."

Nobody would have imagined Kiara could tell so much lies for just one person.

She didn't know what she felt for Smith. She was only sure she was attracted to him but the thought of crushing on him made her feel very uncomfortable, so her tried her best to push such thoughts aside.

He won't like me anyway, would he?
