Chapter 9

I drove to get Hannah because my mother forgot to get her! I pulled into the daycare and just stared at the sign. I got out of the car and went inside. I see Hannah sitting outside her classroom, in tears. She looked up and saw me. She jumped up and hopped into my arm.

"I thought you weren't coming for me!" She cried. I sign her out and I carried her to the car. I buckled her up and got into the car.

I started to drive away from the daycare. We got home and Hannah slept in the car ride. I sat there in the car looking at her. I love her but why did mom go behind our back. I remember when Eddie was born and my mom had to work night shifts. That when I was 4 and Jason was 6. I could hear Jason screaming and crying downstairs. I hear my father yelling at him. Then Eddie crying next door.

I felt tears running down my face. I started crying again, but really hard. It took me a few minutes to calm down. I look at Hannah again. I got out and see Lucas walking out of the house.

"Your mom is pissed and she wants to see you!" Lucas says picking up Hannah. I walk inside quietly. I walked into her office.

"Hi" I said quietly. She turned to face me.

"Sit Jennifer!" She said pushing the chair to me. I sat down quietly. I looked down at my feet. "Why are you here?" She asked me.

"Because I yelled at you" I looked up at her. I looked back down.

"Well you going to be grounded for a week!" I said telling back to her computer. I got up and looked at her. So I'm not going to eat? I asked myself. "Oh and there food in the kitchen." she said.

"Thanks" I said looking at her. I walked into the kitchen and got food. I sat down and started eating. I looked up and see Lucas walking in. He sits down. "Did Jack leave?" I asked him.

"Yeah, he wasn't happy when he left." he said. I was playing with me food. I looked back up and I frowned.

"Are you stay the night?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I'm sleeping in Eddie's room!" He said smiling a little.

"I'm going up to bed!" I said putting the dishes in the sink. I walked upstairs. I brushed my teeth and got dressed into my pjs. I crawled into bed and fell asleep.

My alarm went off. I really don't want to go to school. So I laid in bed for a little bit.

"Jennifer wake up. We're going to be late!" I hear Lucas yell.

"I don't feel good! I'm staying home!" I yelled back to him but I'm lying.

"Oh okay! That means your watching Hannah!" He laughed at me. I put my covers over my head. Hannah comes walking in and crawls into my bed and fell asleep.

I got up and went to my window. I see Jack grabbing his bags and I meet up with his face. He opens the window and I do the same. "Hey!" I yelled to him.

"Hi! Are you going to school?" He asked me smiling.

"No, I'm skipping!" I yelled to him still smiling.

"I'm skipping too! Is that okay if I came over?" He asked me. I nodded and he closed his window. I kept it opened. I fell into my bed not crushing Hannah tiny body.

The door bell rings and I pick up sleeping Hannah. I walk downstairs to open the door. I see Jack at my front door smile. I move out of the way for him to come in. I put Hannah on the couch and went to the kitchen. Jack and I started making pancakes. I was flipping the pancakes when Jack got pancake batter on me. I look at him. I grab a huge batter in my hands and throw it at me.

"WAR!" He yelled and throw more at me. I were having so much fun when I fell on top of Jack. My dirty hair was in my face and I met with Jack's eyes.

"Sorry" I said getting up. I cleaned the floor, I could feel him staring at me. "Hey I was wondering if you wanted to go to the beach?" I asked him.

"Sure!" He said walking into the family room. I follow him and Hannah was getting up to turn the TV on. She walked over to Jack and handed the remote. She crawled into his lap.
