Annabeth stared at Percy with wide eyes. She sat on a chair in the library and Percy stood in front of her with a smile on his face and a movie in his hand.
"So do you want to go watch a movie with me at my house?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Uh-" Annabeth stared at him blankly. She didn't understand why she felt so nervous all of a sudden.

Maybe cuz you have a crush on him, Stupid. Annabeth mocked herself.
In all fairness, it was true. She didn't want to admit she had feelings for the dork that was her best friend but she couldn't help it.
"Uh yeah sure. D-Does Grover want to come?"
"No. He said we can have alone time together or something." Percy's cheeks got a little red.
Of course that little shit wants us to have 'alone time' together. Annabeth thought.
"L-Lets go then."

Annabeth sat on Percy's bed awkwardly. She had only been in Percy's room one other time, and it was only for a quick second.
Percy put in the movie and sat down on the bed next to Annabeth.
The movie started to play and Annabeth didn't relax. Every sudden movement Percy made, made her tense.
Can you blame her though?
Percy laid back on the bed and continued to watch the movie. Annabeth was aware of how her hands were shaking. She tried to calm down but to no avail.

Suddenly Percy grabbed her by the waist and started to tickle her. She squirmed in his arms and tried to suppress her laugh. She fell back onto his chest and tried slapping his hands away.
"P-Percy, stop." Annabeth said in between giggles.
"No, Wisegirl. You're stuck." Percy said with a laugh.
Annabeth buried her face into Percy's chest to suppress her laugh.
Soon enough Percy had stopped tickling her and instead held her close. Neither of them wanted to let go.

Annabeth hesitantly wrapped her arm around Percy's waist and made herself more comfortable. Percy rubbed her back lightly and drew shapes into her shoulder with his finger.
Annabeth felt Percy's heart thump at a fast pace as his chest went up and down.
By the time the credits were rolling the two were almost asleep. Annabeth fiddled with the fabric of Percy's shirt.
She glanced up at him and was met with his sea green eyes. His hair hung in his eyes and his cheeks were bright red.

Annabeth glanced down at his lips and felt her heart race. Without thinking, the two simultaneously started to lean forward, their lips getting closer and closer.
Percy snaked his hand up to the back of Annabeth's neck.
The two got closer and closer, their hearts pounding. Annabeth closed her eyes and gripped his shirt.
I guess this is happening now. Annabeth thought.
Their lips were only an inch apart when Annabeth's phone went off. The two pulled away and avoided each others gaze.

Annabeth pulled out her phone and answered it.
"Where are you?" Annabeth's mom asked.
"I'm at uh-" Annabeth glanced at Percy and covered her cheeks, in an attempt to cover the blush on her face. "I'm at a friends house."
"Well, it's time to come home. Dinner is ready."
"Ok I'll see you in a bit." Annabeth said before hanging up and resting her hands in her lap.
She glanced at Percy and bit her lip. He stared at her with bright red cheeks. "I have to go home."

"O-ok." He mumbled. Annabeth stood and got her things together. She started her way towards the door and turned back once more.
"Bye, Percy. I'll uh- see you later ok?" She tried for a smile.
"Yeah. See you later." Percy said with a smile.
And with that Annabeth rushed out the door and started her way towards her house.
She tried suppressing a smile, thinking about what happened.
They had almost kissed.
Almost.
