When I gave you my phone I just expected you to hold it
Not unlock the screen and with your mind now behold it
When you unlocked my phone, it was more than life that you unlocked
So... now, to you, my friendship is blocked
I hadn't expected that...
I trusted you
And when I gave you my car keys, I told you to sit down
You see, I wasn't the one who asked you to drive around
So, when you crashed and got hurt and asked me for my sorrow
I shouted and screamed because it was my car you borrowed
I hadn't expected that...
I trusted you
And when you knocked on my door and I chose to let you in
I thought, or rather assumed, that you were apologising
But instead, you'd come so your party could be hosted
And now, because of a fire from that party, I got roasted
I didn't expect that...
I trusted you
But I think that sometimes, our trust can be misleading
Because sometimes our trust can really lead to bleeding
The only person we can really trust is Jesus from the cross
And I know it might sound crazy but in my life, He's the boss
He saved us
And He raised us
And He'll never let us go
And even when Satan's darts at us are thrown
He heals
And protects
And even holds us in His hands
And I know that for you he has many almighty plans
So, please, put your trust in Jesus, He's always there for you
And even if you don't know Him yet, I know that he loves you
