Zoey's POV

Normally, I don't ever get stressed.

Throughout the seventeen years in my life, I have never felt suffocated, by school work or family matters.

But for the first time in my entire existence, I'm feeling stressed.

It's like this invisible weight that's being placed on my shoulders and it's so uncomfortable for me to just settle down. I will be fidgeting around like mad and sighing and grumbling.

Which is very unlike me.

I'm alone in Chris' house right now, sitting on his bed with a book in my lap but I can't stop moving around. I can't concentrate.

Chris went out twenty minutes ago to get us sandwiches since we're too lazy to make some ourselves.

I can't figure out what's bugging me. But I'm almost a hundred percent sure this is because of what happened yesterday. There's this unsettling feeling in my stomach.

When I woke up to Chris nuzzling his head into my neck, I felt at ease, like all the crying didn't happen just yesterday. It was only until Chris started lecturing me about being an idiot and I should always tell him everything so that I wouldn't have to deal with bullshits alone, when I start to get this feeling in my stomach. And being the caring boyfriend he is, he threatened that he'll make me eat so much chocolate that I wouldn't be able to move, if I do keep things to myself.

He is such a mean person sometimes but he is so sweet and that alone makes me want to stab him in the eye because I can't handle so much sweetness.

"I'm home!"

Chris' voice jolts me out of my thoughts and I jump out of bed fast. I sprint out of the bedroom, crashing into Chris who is standing coindentally at the doorway of the room. My face is smashed against his chest and the impact of the momentum sends me falling back. Shit shit.

"Nein!" I scream as I grab onto Chris' arms tightly. He snakes an arm around ny waist, steadying me. He looks so amused, I just want to dig his eyes out.

"Nine?"

"No. Nein as in Nein."

"Nein?"

"It means 'no' in German."

"German?"

"That was the first thing that came to my mind?"

He pulls me back up so that I'm standing properly on my feet. He removes his arms from me and I scowl at the loss of touch. Almost instantly, he wraps his arms back around me, and my scowl flips into a grin.

"Since when did you learn German?"

"I didn't really learn it, I had a dictionary on that and yeah."

I glance down at the paper bag in Chris' hands.

"What did you get for me?"

"Ham and cheese."

"Yes!" I dig the sandwich out from the bag and peel the foil away, revealing a beautifully toasted sandwich. Oh my, oh my, oh my gosh.

I can see the cheese oozing out from in between the bread. And the ham sits there, evenly coated with cheese. This is too good to be true.

I take a large bite of the sandwich and - holy hell. I moan in appreciation.

Chris releases me from his arms and this time, I don't even care anymore. I hop back to his bed.

He follows after me, sitting at the chair near his study table.

"Remember the books?"

"What books?"
