Chapter 17: The Battle Falls

ALEX POV

"That was a smart move, I have to admit Alex. Although you were part of my team, I am going to have to destroy you and go retrieve the Dragon King and Demon Queen," Vallen said and attacked. I dodged and returned,"Like hell I'll let you past me. FIRE DRAGON'S ROAR!" The stream of fire came out of my mouth and straight for him. He moved out of the way, but it clipped his leg and made him fall on his face.

"FIRE DRAGON'S TAIL WHIP," I said and the fire formed whip appeared."It's about time I tell you what really happens after this." I started walking towards him.

NATSU POV

We were finally getting out of the building, and I could here the battle going down behind us. "I can't believe that Alex made me give up my fight and then take it," I said slightly irratated. Erza rolled her eyes and Gray was being stupid and said,"Well maybe it was for the best, you probably wouldn't have been able to take him out any ways." I gritted my teeth and replied,"I would have been able to beat him, its just that I was focused on some other things at the moment." He rolled his eyes and walked away.

Lucy was still in Demon Queen form which was making me nervous. Why was she still in in Demon Queen form? I walked over to her and sat down. "Are you okay, Luce?" I asked her. She looked at me and grinned weakly,"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little worn out, that's all." Erza walked over and said,"We should probably go to Octavian and see if you can get some rest. You probably need it." Lucy nodded and went to stand up, but then she collasped and went out of Demon Queen form.

"Lucy!" We all yelled in unison. I got down beside her and noticed all of her gashes and cuts reappearing. I didn't notice it until now, but when she was in Demon's Soul she was healed completely. Maybe it was because of the weird magic circle that formed around her. "Lucy? Lucy?!" I said shaking her lightly. She was heavily breathing and was sweating. Blood was bleeding out of her big gash on her stomach and streaming out of the corner of her mouth. "We need to get her to a hostpital," Erza said running ahead," I'm gonna go ahead and find out if one is close by in Octavian. Gray go get Alex and tell her what is happening. Can you carry Lucy to Octavian?" She was directing the question to me, but I was already trying to lift her up with out causing her pain. "I'll manage," I replied.

Erza nodded and ran ahead, I started to jog shortly behind Erza. "N-Natsu? W-What happened? W-Why are you carrying me?" Lucy asked me, before trying to fix herself and then wincing in pain."Be still and don't talk, I don't want you to hurt yourself," I said looking down at her and then continuing to jog. I could see the city from here."I hope Erza found a hostpital," I said to myself. Lucy was bleeding more now. "Don't worry Lucy, we'll be in Octavian in a little bit," I said, but I was mainly trying to reassure myself. It is my fault that she is like this now.

I don't want her to get hurt anymore than she already is.

ALEX POV

Vallen was awestruck with what I just told him,"W-What?! What do you mean? That's impossible, your lying!!"

"I wish, but I'm not. It's the truth, but it only happens to Lucy," I said kind of sadly," And once that happens, then neither one of them will be useful to you." Vallen was beat, he couldn't even gather the strength to sit up and look me in the eye. "What your saying is impossible!" Vallen yelled now. I was about to say something else before Gray came bounding into the room.

"Alex! We've got a problem!" Gray yelled from the door way."What is it, Gray?" I yell back keeping my eyes on Vallen just in case. "Lucy just collasped and all of her wounds came back out of no where," Gray said a little closer now. "Oh, shit, it's happening now?" I asked. I looked back down at Vallen and then said,"This is your fault and you deserve this." I slammed the heel of my combat boot into his face. Then I looked back at Gray for the first time and said,"Lets go, I've got some explaining to do."
