Chapter 18: Please Stay Awake

NATSU POV

I had carried Lucy all the way back to Octavian, but she was slowly slipping out of conciousness. My clothes were smeared in blood. "Crap. Please stay awake Lucy!" I said running through the street, following Erza's scent. After a few minutes of running around, I finally found the hospital that Erza was in.

I kicked open the doors and went to the front counter."Oh, my! Is this the blonde friend of that Erza Scarlet woman?" the woman asked. I nodded, completely out of breathe. "Come quickly. Mrs. Scarlet had a room reserved for her, the doctor is waiting," the woman said jogging down the hall. I followed her to a room with Erza getting her arm stitched up.

"She bled out more and is unconcious," I explained to Erza as she tried to stand. The doctor quickly finished up with Erza and got to work on Lucy. The nurse ushered me and Erza out of the room. Something about the doctor and anxiety or something like that.
I wonder what's taking Alex and Gray so long.

ALEX POV

"WHAT!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" Gray exclaimed. I nodded in response. I told him the news that I had just told Vallen. "Are you going to tell the others?" He asked still in shock. I looked at him with a "duh!" expression,"Of course I'm gonna tell the others! I don't keep secrets unless told to." He waved his hands in defense and said,"Okay, okay. Sorry I asked."

I huffed," Come on, we better be getting to the hospital. I can smell Lucy's blood, and it's alot." Gray stood and we both started sprinting through the woods, following the reeking smell of blood back to Octavian.

(Time Skip 30 minutes later)

We finally got to the hospital, and we ran in past the counter and into the hallway where I smelled Natsu and Erza. I gave them questioning looks that read,"Why are you out here?", But Erza said that the doctor forced them out. I nodded and plopped on the floor, leaned against the wall and forced my eyes closed.

I heard Gray, and Nastu arguing which made me and Erza annoyed, so I punched Gray in the face and Erza punched Natsu. We left big red bumps on their cheeks, and then the nurse walked out," she is still asleep, but you may enter now." Natsu was the first one in the room, we all just piled in behind him. Lucy looked terrible, but she didn't reek of blood any more. She was practically wrapped from head to toe in bandages and stitches.

She looked weird when she slept, but she is probably gonna look even worse when I break the news to her. Natsu sat down in a chair beside Lucy's bed, while I crawled into the other bed and went to sleep. That's all that happened until I woke up again.

When I woke up every one was awake, even Lucy was awake. "Morning guys!" I said yawning. Erza sweat dropped,"It's been 30 minutes." I was suprised, but I wasn't worried about that right now,"Since every one is awake it's about time I tell everyone something important."

They all looked at me, except Gray since he already knew what I was about to say.

"What is it, Alex?" Lucy asked worried. I looked her in the eyes and flat out told her what was wrong.

"Lucy no longer has access to her Demon Queen power."

Every one's jaws dropped to the floor, and they all looked suprised and scared at the same time."What do you mean I don't have access to my power any more?! What about my spirits?!" Lucy asked nervously. I gave her a reassuring look,"This doesn't affect your spirits, they are just fine. You just can't transform into Demon's Soul, Angel's Wrath, or Demon Queen anymore."

"How did this happen?" Natsu asked next.

"Well. When Lucy was being controlled by Vallen, her entire mind could see what was happening, but she couldn't control her action. But when me and you were 'fighting', that somehow forced Vallen's control out, while in the process, forced more than that out. It also forced out the power.

"This type of ritual was supposed to be performed with both the powers of the Demon Queen and the Dragon King, but since the ritual was only performed with the Demon Queen, there was a loop hole that messed everything up. Now that Lucy is no longer able to use that power, there is no possible way that the ritual can be performed again," I finished. That's alot of information for me to know.

The only reason I know all of this is because Igneel told me of this power. It's something you should never combine, it would cause the worlds entire destruction because sooner or later, the holders of the magic would no longer be able to be controlled and would be out of control, but I didn't tell them that.

"Woah, I never knew how serious this was," Erza said, Natsu and Lucy nodding in agreement. "Glad y'all agree. I'm hungry and I'm tired of Octavian. I never want to see this wretched place ever again," I said standing,"Shall we head back to Magnolia?"

Every one nodded in agreement, and the doctor said that Lucy needs to take it easy while she walks or runs.

We left for the train station, but before we got on the train someone whispered to me from afar,"We'll meet again someday, Alex."

I turned my head just in time to see Haruniki and Pirus walk out if the station. I smiled and replied,"You, too," then got on the train.
