"I'm going on an adventure!" Gus said to himself as he walked through the town. (His friends were too busy getting scolded for the fight to hang out with him.)

As he weaved around the stalls, something caught his eyes. His walking slowed as he passed a single stall. It was a Blood stand famous for its bee blood and there was one Jar left! The thick yellow substance enticed Gus as he approached the stand. With careful hands he picked up the jar and examined it. He nodded at the cashier as he handed the jar to her. The golden eyed lady put his jar into a small pink bag and handed it to the small boy. She smiled at him as he took the bag, her head tilted to its side.

"Five snails." She said sweetly. She blinked slowly as Gus counted the money. Then the boy carefully dropped the snails into her waiting hand.

Gus looked into her eyes. The honey colored pupils looked back at him. 'What a nice lady.' Gus thought as he took his bag and walked off. He hummed happily as he made his way home. He passed by the mailman, who waved at him. His light gold eyes reflected the sun back at Gus.
Gus stopped and looked around, everyone had golden eyes. The rich color danced around Gus as he took a breath. He looked around closer, taking time to realize what was going on. He drifted through the market, looking for the source. Then he saw it! There was a small tent on the outskirts of the market. Beside its entrance was a dark oak sign, on it was crudely painted Golden eyes. It had a very sinister vibe.

"Yeah no." Gus said out loud as he made his way past the tent and walked into the store beside it. There he saw it! Golden eye contacts had gone on sale for all hallows eve! With a smile, he grabbed the contacts as well as some hair dye. He was going to be the coolest guy at Hexside. Who was also the only guy he actually knew.  Gus eyed some candy on the shelf. It was a mixed pack. The neon colored worms called out to Gus.

"Buy meee." It said to him. It was whispering secrets and words of affirmation to him. "Buy meee." It said again. With a smile Gus grabbed the worms and threw them onto the conveyer belt. They landed with a heavy thud. "Ow." Said the worms.

"Sorry." Gus said patting the bag gently. Gus smiled as he payed for the items and slipped them into his backpack. Gus left the store, wondering if his friends were okay. Outside was a strange man wearing a cloak.

"Won't you come in for a reading?" He asked gesturing to the purple tent.

"No, I'm okay." Gus said weirded out. He walked past the man and continued on his day.

"Just one reading." The man said running after him.

"I don't want what you are selling." Gus said over his shoulder.

"It's a great product and a Better deal!" The cloaked figured yelled as he continued following him. The man was getting annoying now.

Gus looked at the man in the eyes. "Leave me alone!" Gus had just fought some guy from Glandus and he would fight again.

The man stopped, he squared his shoulders. He raised his head high, "No!" The man yelled. Gus saw the cloaked man's eyes. The man's eye glowed an eerie gold, it was honestly an ugly color. (Gus was glad he bought pretty contacts and didn't have whatever disease the cloaked man had.)

After an awkward pause, Gus turned around and began walking away faster, his legs speeding him along. The hooded man raced after him.

Gus was running, his legs thumping against the ground. 'Why did I have to be smart? Why couldn't I be an athlete?' Gus thought to himself as he ran, already tired from the chase. The man caught up and grabbed him by the arm. The hooded figure began dragging Gus away. Back towards his creepy tent.

From the corner of his vision, Gus saw some members of the Emperors Coven on their coffee break. The four soldiers were enjoying some cake. They sat on a gated patio. The white fence was about hip-height. It was a very peaceful coffee shop, on a very peaceful street.

"Child predator help!" Gus screamed at the top of his lungs. The four members jolted up and saw Gus. They looked at the cloaked figure. One man threw some money on the table as the others hopped over the fence. The all began closing in on the cloaked figure.

"What? No!" The cloaked man yelled. "I'm not a predator!" He screamed louder as the guards closed in.

"I don't know this man!" Gus screamed trying to break free of the mans grasp. The soldiers began closing in faster.

Angry the cloaked figure let go of Gus and began running away the guards chasing after him. The market falling into chaos. A single guard stayed with Gus.

"Are you okay?" The deep voiced man asked. He reached into his pocket and pulled out some candy. The sweets overflowed out of his hand, trickling onto the ground. Gus picked a blue one and nodded at the man. Before the soldier ran after the cloaked man, he gave a pat onto Gus's head. Standing alone on a once peaceful street, Gus decided he had enough adventure for one day.
