Melody's POV
It has been many years since I was brought to Trollmarket. Five human years ago, I was chosen by the Amulet of Midday Sky, making me a Trollhunter like Kanjigar. But I thought that such an honor would have gone to said Trollhunter's son, Draal the Destroyer. But I soon learned that being a Trollhunter comes with a lot of responsibility and duties. After Kanjigar had taught me all he could about being a Trollhunter with Blinky's help, he distanced himself from me like he did with Draal. But unlike my fellow Trollhunter, i believe we are stronger together than we are alone, so I keep Draal in the loop and let him help me with some things as long as it was night outside and not the daylight time. I'm not a Troll, so the sun doesn't hurt me, so I patrol during the day while Kanjigar handles some of the night patrols and I handle the other nights. But today, Kanjigar was late from patrol and that's not like him at all. I prepare to go and look at my sleeping adopted son, he was half Krubera and half...something else, I wasn't sure what yet. His skin was a bluish grey, his fur was a darker shade of blue and his markings were a white blue and his eyes are a silvery-blue, a wonderful color. He didn't have a name when I found him a year ago, he wasn't sensitive to light like the other Krubera, must be because of the other half of him, so I named him Marzel. I leave a note in Trollish for my son, saying I was going to go look for Kanjigar and get started on my patrols, before gently bumping my forehead with his and then I leave, armoring up because I have a feeling I'll need my armor and weapons. I open the gate and as soon as it closes, the sounds of battle greeted me. My head snaps up, looking at the rising sun in worry. I better find and help Kanjigar before the sun finishes rising or he will die. I look around in the fog, but can't see anything so I shut my eyes and listen before I hear them and head to the battle. I see Kanjigar fighting Bular when I arrive, but both of them are breathing hard like they have been battling all night.
"Yield, Kanjigar!" Bular says before I jump, landing beside my teacher and glaring at Bular.
"Trollhunters never yield!" I snarl at the Gumm-Gumm prince, baring my sharp fangs as I snarl and Kanjigar was breathing heavily as he stands beside me from his kneeling position, using the Sword of Daylight to help himself stand up.
"We'd rather die!" Kanjigar agrees as we glare at Bular.
"Terms *snorts* accepted." Bular says with a dark grin, before he jumps into the air with a yell and we roll out of the way. We use our blades to block his punches, he dodges our kicks and jumps up to punch us again but we beat him to the punch, literally, as we punch him, sending him flying back and landing on his back. He sits up as we approach and we put our blades into his face.
"Your turn, Bular. Yield!" Kanjigar says before we hear sizzling and I look at his left shoulder armor, seeing it was smoking and we both turn to look at the direction of the rising sun in worry. I'm worried about Kanjigar, if that sunlight hits him he'll turn to stone and die! But our distraction gave Bular a chance to kick us back and we land on our fronts, Daylight getting sent into the sunlight. I see Bular coming and grab Daylight, giving it to Kanjigar and we turn to face him. Kanjigar was panting as we notice the blue glow of his Amulet fading and I was worried about that.
"There is nowhere left for you to run, Trollhunters. Give me the Amulets!" Bular says, Kanjigar uses the wall of the canal to get to the underside of the bridge, I just fly up there. We were panting as we look around for Bular, not knowing he was behind us until he roars and as we turn to face him, he uses the supports to swing and kick us back. He lunges but we use the supports like a jungle gym to get away from him, but he chases us. We swing back up and go back to back looking for Bular, but he drops down from above us. I roar in pain as he claws the right side of my face leaving gnashes in it and I keep that eye closed to keep blood from getting in it. I try to block his next attack, but his claws somehow got my right side too and I roar in pain again. He knocks Kanjigar back and throws me off the bridge, I land on my uninjured side, skidding a fair distance away and unintentionally leaving a bit of a blood trail. I see Daylight land right in front of me by a few feet, the blade sticking into the ground before it vanishes. I look up in worry and try to get up, but I was disoriented and feeling a little weak. Bular was laughing darkly as he and Kanjigar continue to grapple.
