Chapter 3

*Still at the Cafeteria.*

"Hey"
I looked up at the owner of the voice, She is really tall, with rings hanging everywhere on her blonde hair, too many bracelets on one hand, never wore more than two, mummy says it's not proper for a teenager. Her coat is thick and black, she's dressed all black, I noticed she applied eye liners cause I could see dark lines above and beneath her big eyes. Mum would definitely freak out if she sees her.
"Can i seat with you guys"she asked still holding her tray
"Sure" Cherry and i chorused
"Thanks" she sat down dropping her tray.
"Lucy" she smiled
'pfff, more like Lucifer' I smirk
"Am Mia" i said not removing my eyes from her, how did she even get in looking like that.
"I know, heard you in class" she said still smiling
"Cherry" Cherry introduced herself.
"Hi Cherry,  seen you too in class, I was almost going to freeze from sitting alone"she said adjusting her coat like she was actually freezing.
"So I thought, instead of sitting there and waiting for someone, anyone to come share a bench with me, I'd rather meet someone, anyone" Lucy said still smiling
'so we are the chosen ones, Great'
"I sit alone every day in class"Cherry said almost like she wants to tell us how frozen she gets everyday "Not anymore" I said finally, I got the feeling i was left out in the conversation so i had to chip in something "We'd always sit together"wait did i just say that, mummy mustn't hear about this.
Cherry brightened up.
"So Mia, what's up"Lucy to me
Didn't know what to answer exactly"Am okay, I guess, people here really do their stuffs on their own, am surprised a boy hasn't spank my ass" they both laughed. I continued smiling
"Or someone throwing a note at me telling me i am short or even taking my lunch or something to make me cry" they were smiling this time
"I mean it's an experience i get in every new school that I've ever been to" I seriously am surprised, I have always been bullied all my life, that's why I never went to anywhere except the baseball court and classes, the only time you see me in the cafeteria is only when am in the counter collecting lunch, the next minute am off to the baseball court. I was once locked in the school toilet for almost a whole day, thank God for the janitor.
"You sure must have seen a lot"Cherry said "I had just one friend all my days of education "we laughed. She continued"Many people didn't want to talk to me because am black, I lost my best friend when her father died, they had to relocate, ever since then it has just been me and my back pack"Cherry ended placing her bag on the lunch table, it's a bag with ears, eyes and mouth. We laughed.
"Never been bullied"Lucy said
'come on, Who would want to bully THIS GIRL you die when you bully the devil'
"I have friends, but no best friend, I just couldn't find someone my type"
Cherry and i looked at ourselves
"Come on you guys" We laughed "Instead of waiting forever to be best friends with my kind, i just want to go with the flow"
'So we are the chosen ones, this is hilarious' I couldn't help my thoughts
"We haven't even touched our lunch" I said feeling somewhat free and complete
"I find cheese crisp really tiring"Lucy said pushing the snack apart. Did not know the devil has a favorite never the less "Me too, it feels like it's going to choke me the next minute" I said making the face
"Ditto,"cherry added. We chuckled
"I can't wait to tell my mom about you two" Cherry said Smiling really broadly
"Me too"I said almost picturing my mum's reaction when I tell her I made friends with a devil and a black on my first day at school
"Can't wait to drive you guys in my truck" Lucy said
"You have a truck" Cherry asked drinking from her juice bag
"Yeah"Lucy answered doing the same
"And it's black"I added joining them
"Yeah" Lucy answered and we all laughed. Now what, I can imagine how it will look like, black with skeleton heads all over, with animal fur on the seats. "Does that makes us friends" I couldn't stop my self from asking out loud.
"Sounds good to me"Lucy answered smiling and nodding
"Yes"Cherry added smiling as well
'Not sure how this combination would go but am ready to give it a try. I love them already'
Just then the bell came.
