Chapter 5

The next day
*In Class*

"The cerebrum is the largest part of the human brain. It is divided into two cerebral hemispheres."

"No way, Cheese burger is tots the best"Cherry said. Cherry and Lucy has been making arguments silently on which is better, Cheese burger or Hamburger. It all started when i told them the school should think about adding Hamburger to their table. This school lunch is Lame.
"Cheese burger you meant"Cherry said to me looking at the teacher.
"Hamburger" Lucy said "Hamburger" she spelled out, I knew she was trying to let Cherry know i didn't make a mistake. Two against one.

"The brain is protected by the skull, suspended in cerebrospinal fluid and isolated from the blood stream by the blood brain barrier. However"
Her voice faded as we continued talking.
"Wait what is it we are arguing about again" I asked them. The argument was pointless "Cheese burger is hamburger topped with cheese, They are all burgers" I said trying to make a conclusion and put an end to this dump conversation.
"I like the burger without cheese"Lucy said making a face rolling a strand of her black hair.
"Whatever" Cherry said finally. I pray it's the last.

"The study of the anatomy of the brain is neuroanatomy, while the study of it's function is neuroscience"

The bell came.
"I'll drop you two off in my truck"Lucy said to us as we walk down the hall.
"Cool"Cherry said
"I'll drop you first" Lucy to Cherry "Then I'll take Mia home"
"Can't wait" I said meaning it.
"TA-DA" Lucy sang immediately we approach the Truck.
It was a Black-old 4×4 chervy pick up truck.
"My Dad and i uses this truck to patrol during winter" She opened the door for us and proceeded to the drivers seat.
This Truck was everything I pictured it'd be, there was a black rosary hanging on rear view mirror, it has black curtains covering the glasses. It was almost like it's night inside the truck. The seats were covered in black fur.
"I can't stay alone in here" Cherry said as she held my hand. Lucy started the engine, it made a very loud noise.
"Why not"She asked smiling.
"Melanophobia"Cherry replied.
"Do you really love black that much"I was forced to ask.
"Yeah, wearing black is a Life style, black is like my Happy color"She continue " Psychology says people who love black color have the most colorful minds, I'll only stop wearing black when they make a darker color" I could see the huge grin on her face. I can imagine what her room's gon' look like.
"Is there anything of yours that isn't Black??"Cherry asked
"Yeah, I mean, is there?? I added agreeing with Cherry
"Arrr.... Maybe my intestines"she answered and we laughed.
I wouldn't be surprised if that is also black 'Yiishhh'
"Turn Left"Cherry instructed as Lucy pulled up in the next street. I could see a bungalow with lots of flowers around.
"It's beautiful"I said
"And colorful" Lucy added as she parked.
"Yeah, My Dad's a part-time Gardner"Cherry said as she step down "Am looking forward to having another ride in your truck"She winked at me
"Hey, I saw that"Lucy said and we laughed.
"Bye" we chorused and Cherry banged the door.
  'Alone with the Devil'
"So you stay with your Mom and Dad"i asked Lucy, or should i say 'Spell book and Wand'
"My Dad actually"Lucy answered her eyes on the road
"What about your mom"I asked hoping it's not what am thinking
"Divorced" Lucy raised her hands slightly as she said it. She was wearing knuckle rings, adorable. "They Divorced"She continued "five years ago"
What the heck, Five years?? haven't been away from Mum for a even a week
"But why?? I mean why, you were young"I asked, this time i was really alarm. I know kids tend to be different somewhat when they grow without their mum.
"I was 13 so i understood what a divorce was but nevertheless it hurts even as i talk about it right now, it still does"
I heard pain in her voice
"I just don't know the reason for the Divorce because i never saw them fought, not even once, i could remember there were times Mummy didn't come home till after three days, She didn't even say goodbye, Haven't heard from her ever since i watched her leave the house, that day she did not even look in my direction, I stood by the door holding her picture am not even sure she saw it cause she wasn't even looking. I guess she didn't want me" I saw a tear on Lucy's cheek, it dropped on the steering wheel
"Lucy..." I called sweetly as i noticed it... If Devils could cry, who am i, my view got blurry as tears gathered in my eyes. I dabbed into my shoulder.
"Whenever i ask Daddy why Mummy Left and if she's ever gon' come back he just kiss my forehead and say 'Mummy loves me a lot and she will come Visit" Lucy laughed and cleaned her eyes as with her palm.
"Am so sorry you went through this much alone"I said not knowing exactly what to tell her to make her feel better, but i know how painful this is and how bad she must have felt. God this is even worst than being bullied.
"Come on it's okay, it's all the Past, I know she'll come back one day, I just miss having a Mum"Lucy said Smiling
"My Mum is your mom" I said hoping to lighten her mood
She smiled
"My Mum wanted  to have twin baby girls, but it was just me, she'll be happy if you become part of the family, I don't mind sharing my Mum" I said, this time she was really laughing. I brought up this topic, it's my duty to make her feel better, and it's done buh the part I said mum wanted twins jsyk I lied.
"Thanks, haven't talked about this since the last Four years, I feel much more better now since after then"
"You are welcome" I said spelling out the welcome and we laughed.
"There"I pointed at a single family detached house not far from our incoming pickup truck
"It's beautiful, and big"Lucy said entering the garage
"I have a brother, Jade, he plays tennis, sure my Dad had him in mind when he bought this house"
"Yeah, i can tell"She said asked she stopped the engine.
"You are coming in with me, and don't say no" I said as i opened the door, the sound was awful. Lucy smiled as she opened her door
"You have Dogs??" She asked
"No, why?" I asked though i know the answer
"They are not my friends"
"Me too" we laughed and started heading to the front door, it swung open before i could reach for the knob.
