A/N: Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't updated this book in awhile but I've been busy working on my other books. Anyway, here is chapter 5 and maybe something will happen soon between Chase and Gregory.
Chase POV
I woke up to my aunt shouting... again. Does she ever take a break from breaking people's eardrums? Seriously. How long is she going to continue arguing over the phone with people? This is the fifth time I've woken up! I looked at the clock. Still two hours before I'm supposed to wake up for school. The hell was aunt Danice doing up at this hour? Jeez. I don't even think I can sleep for another two hours. I could still hear my aunt screaming downstairs. I listened, her shouts and threats muffled by my closed door. It soon stopped and I sighed. Women.
Now what do I do? If I had a phone I could probably text someone. But who would I text? Exactly. No one. I don't have any game systems like Greg to play either. I could draw some more but I don't have the urge to do that. What to do? Go walk around in the woods? Tempting but I don't know if I could make it back in time before dear auntie came barging in, telling me to get my lazy ass up for school. She'd go off the deep end if she didn't see me in my bed.
I continued stare at nothing in particular, mostly my ceiling until I realized that my room was getting brighter. I looked at my window and noticed the sun was coming up. I've been laying here, thinking for two hours?! Jeez. I got out of my bed right before my aunt burst into my room. She went to say something but stopped when she realized I was already standing.
"Oh. You're up."
"Yea." There was an awkward silence as we just continued to stare at each other. It didn't last very long though since aunt Danice's trademark frown appeared on her face and she started talking again.
"Well hurry and get dressed. I have errands I have to do today." She shut the door and I rolled my eyes. By errands, she means grocery shopping and flirting with guys she meets. Not to mention going to get herself dulled up to try and look even more good looking for guys.
I got dressed in some regular clothes and brushed my teeth before I fixed my hair. I noticed that the black color seemed to be fading slightly but I didn't care. I grabbed my locket and stuffed it into my pocket before going downstairs. There was a small bowl with some scrambled eggs in it. Not much though and that's how I liked it. I grabbed the salt shaker and covered the eggs in a small amount of salt before eating. I didn't finish it all but I did eat a good amount of the eggs. I threw away the plastic bowl and put the fork into the sink. I put on my shoes and went outside to see aunt Danice already in the car. I hopped in and she was off in seconds. We arrived at the school and I was out of the car as soon as she stopped. I watched her take off and vanish.
"Chase! Over here!" I turned and saw Greg getting out of... a limo? He rides in a fucking limo?! Jeez. I looked at the butler and noticed it was Stanley. He saw me and bowed before getting back into the limo and driving off. Greg made his way over to me and gave me a smile.
"What's up?"
"Nothing." I walked towards the school, Greg right next to me.
"Hey, what's that?" I looked at Greg. He was pointing at something and I followed his finger to my pocket. The chain to my locket seemed to be hanging out. I quickly stuffed it back inside and blushed.
"I-its nothing." Greg gave me a skeptical look.
"Right. Well, I can't force you to tell me so I'll leave it alone." He shrugged and I looked away. Maybe it was alright to show him. I mean, I did tell him about my parents. What's showing him a locket? I sighed and pulled out the locket, handing it to Greg. He looked at the locket then back at me.
"Here. You can look at it." He carefully grabbed the locket from my hand and examined it. He then opened it and he looked at me with a sad look.
"Are these your parents?" I nodded and he looked back at the picture.
"My mom gave me the locket when I was little. That's the only thing I have left of her now." He closed it and gave it back to me and I put it back into my pocket. We had made it to our class and I took my seat, Greg sitting next to me. Why is he sitting with me? Shouldn't he be with his friends?
The bell rang and everyone piled into the class. I went between listening to the teacher to staring out the window until I noticed a few people staring at me. They all seemed to be together, staring blankly at me before turning back to the teacher. What the heck? Did I do something to piss them off? Oh great. I feel like I'm about to be in some real big trouble with some jocks.
Gregory POV
I noticed a few of my friends from the team giving Chase some unhappy stares. Man are my friends jealous or what? I'll have to have a talk with them afterwards. The bell rang and Chase went to get up but I stopped him.
"Hold on. Just wait a few seconds." He looked at me and nodded before sitting back down and out of my reach. Does he hate people touching him? The class was empty and the teacher was cleaning off the board. Guess she didn't know we were still in here.
I decided we waited long enough and I motioned Chase to follow me. He did and we walked out of the class. I didn't see any of the team so that meant they left. Good. Not to mention its even better since I have next period with Chase. Though I would like to keep a closer eye on him. I don't want him getting hurt. Doesn't he have a cell I can call him on?
"Hey, Chase?" He looked at me, giving me the ok to continue.
"Don't you have a cellphone?"
"No. My aunt told me I don't need one."
"Your aunt?"
"My mom's sister. I live with her now."
"She doesn't sound very friendly."
"I guess she's isn't." We fell silent as we walked into the classroom right before the bell rang. Safe. And even more lucky is that none of the guys from the football team are in this class. I wonder what they were doing, giving Chase those looks. Well, whatever the reason, they have to get through me first. I'm not letting any body get to Chase without a fight. And the first step to my master plan is to find a way that I'll always be able to know where Chase is every second of the day. And I know just what to do for that.
A/N: OOH, what could Gregory be planning? And what was with those jocks and their unfriendly stares? Will Chase ever let Gregory in? I need to answer these questions and soon don't I? Well, I guess we'll see in the next chapter. I'll try to upload chapter 6 soon so please read what I've written until then. I hope you all enjoy!
