Chapter 4: First Day

   "Damon I can explain..." I told him, then I heard tires pulling up. I looked out my window to see a piece of crap car pull in. Well the car was nice but looked like crap next to Damon's black Camaro.

   "We have bigger problems now." Damon told me and we made our way into the living room where Damon motioned for me to hide on the other side and I did so. Then a girl with red hair came who I instantly recognized as Alexis then there was another man with him who was taller than her but he attacked Damon.

  "Alexis?!" I said. "Get that guy off Damon."

  "Cat?!" Alexis shrieked then I concentrated on them and put my hands together and pulled them apart sending both of them flying. "You are a witch? How is that possible?"

  Then I looked at the guy with Alexis and he had light brown hair and brown eyes, "You gave me vampire blood!" I spat at him.

   "Cat I can explain..." Alexis started.

   "You knew?!" I yelled.

   "Cat..." Damon started coming next to me.

   "Well if I wouldn't have given you my blood you wouldn't have met your boyfriend." The guy said.

   "He is not my boyfriend!" I exclaimed.

   "She is not my girlfriend," Damon said in a less defensive tone, "yet."

   "Cat please I can explain..." Alexis started.

   "No Alexis." I spat then headed toward the door.

   "Come on Damon." I told him.

   "What about the vampire?" Damon asked.

   "Maybe these two will get killed in the process of finding him." I answered. The drive back to Mystic Falls was filled with silence and the second I got back I went up to my room and locked the door and started to sob.

   I hadn't left my room since Damon and I got back five days ago. Or was it six? I listened downstairs and didn't hear anyone. I opened my door a tad bit and still didn't hear anyone. I skipped downstairs and then I was tackled to the ground.

   "What the hell?!" I screamed.

   "Told you it would work." Damon said who was currently on top of me.

   "It's unhealthy to stay in your room that long." Stefan sighed looking at me. It was always St. Stefan who pointed that kind of stuff out, I was dead how much more unhealthy could I get?

   "I'm DEAD, you two are DEAD. Get over it." I snarled at them emphasizing dead as if it was a nasty word.

   "Well you're the living dead and you can choose to act human." Stefan told me, "That is why I enrolled in high school as a sophomore, since it's the end of the year."

   "You what?" I snarled and used magic (which I had been practicing the last week in my room) to push Damon off and then used it to soar across the table and tackle Stefan to the ground. "You stupid bunny eater! I'm going to kill you!"

   Stefan and I were rolling on the ground until I felt arms around my waist hauling me upwards.

    "Why can't I stay here with Damon?" I asked not bothering to struggle with Damon's arms which were securely wrapped around my waist. I was grateful to Damon because he hadn't told Stefan about my past but at the same time, I was pissed at him.
