Abie had to stay in their main hotel for an upcoming event meeting. Clarence was just waiting in the lobby until she had to go home.
Her meeting lasted until nine in the evening. She went out from their meeting room and proceeded to where he was. He stood up when she came near.
"Sorry! I should have told you earlier to go on ahead. I'm staying overnight here," she said, her brows curved down as if really apologizing. "So busy that I wasn't able to send you a message."
He shook his head. With his usual gentle smile, he honestly said, "Don't worry about it, Ms. Abie."
"You could have rested earlier. Sorry."
"No problem." He took something from his pocket and showed a key to her. "Shall I leave the car here? Or shall I drive it back to your house?"
She took it. "Just leave it here. A hotel driver will take me home tomorrow."
"Alright. If I'm dismissed now, how would you rate the service the Argent Securities Agency has provided you, Ms. Rinth?"
She chuckled. "Like I said on your first day, you here with me have been reassuring. I didn't have to worry for the past week. Thank you, Clarence."
He then lent out his phone with a pen stylus at her. "Then, please sign here as the official end of contract."
She took it, signed digitally and gave it back to him.
"Thank you, Ms. Abie. Working with you has been easy because you are too kind and thoughtful," he said, lowering his head also as a courtesy. "Kindly provide us feedback again - any comments and suggestions - and share our company to others as well."
She laughed shortly. "Sure thing. Really, thank you. I will hire your services again. Please tell Musica to count on that. I will also tell him that myself."
She waved a hand. "Take care going home. Goodnight!"

Abie went to the penthouse where her usual and reserved room was. Right after coming inside, as she was about to close the door, an unexpected visitor pushed his way inside and shut it.
She stood still when she saw who that person was - Rye. Her heart beat faster. Her face showed surprise, sadness, yet more of yearning for him.
But she hardened her resolve and her expression turned again into anger. "What are you doing here? I've told you not to come near me!"
Rye looked really remorseful and was almost crying. His eyes formed dark circles. He looked so weary and stressed which to Abie was new since he was very concerned about his face and physical appearance.
"Love, please, give me another chance."
She shook her head. "No. Please leave."
"Are you going to waste those more than 20 years we've been together? I haven't been sleeping thinking that I can't be with you anymore. Abie, I don't wanna lose you. Please, please, love. I'll fix this. So please give me another chance."
In total desperation, he knelt down, took her hand and kissed it. "I'm really sorry, love. Please forgive me. Give me another chance. Last chance. I promise I will become the man worthy of you again."
The more she felt that he was sincerely pleading and apologizing, the more her resolve of not forgiving him anymore melted away. She almost cried, just wanting to be with him again. She wanted to bend down, reach for him, embrace and kiss him. Just like the good old days. She just wanted to be swept away in that moment.
