1. Halloween

"Class dismissed." The teacher groaned.

I immediately shot out of my seat and ran towards my locker. I spun the code at light speed and opened my locker. I chucked my books in my locker, grabbed what I needed, and slammed it shut.

"In a rush?" Tommy Milner snickered at me. His crew was behind him laughing.

"Now I am." I groaned and walked away.

"Heard you're going trick or treating, what are you, five? You act like it." He laughed

"You're one to talk. How long did it take you to come up with that insult?" I smirked

"Bitch." I heard him mutter under his breath.

"Jerk." I spat back, getting out of there before it got worse.

I finally finished my walk home and let out a sigh. I got my stuff ready for the night right away. A carton of eggs, my Halloween costume, and a pillow case. My best friends and I were gonna sabotage Tommy's plans and get some candy at the same time. I smirked at how smart my friends can be, at least... sometimes. Stella's usually the smart one.

"Stella pick up."

My walkie talkie buzzed. It was Chuck talking to Stella, obviously.

"Stella~"

"I don't want to go trick or treating." Stella replied.

"Stella. Stella." Chuck sounded slightly irritated "This isn't about candy. It's about payback. Get all the eggs and TP you can and meet us at 7:00."

"Stella, please. This could be our last Halloween together." Auggie, my final best friend, said over the walkie talkie.

I picked up mine and clicked the button to talk.

"Yeah, come on Stella. You should want payback on Tommy more than anyone else.

"Plus, we get candy for it." I tried to convince her.

"If you think you have it hard, I have to fish a turd out of the toilet." Chuck said annoyed.

"You are disgusting, Chuck." Auggie replied.

I laughed to myself. How am I friends with those idiots? I started to get my costume on, I was going as Wonder Woman. I had on a pair of leggings and my usual green jacket because it's always cold on Halloween. I zipped up my backpack, the eggs inside, and gently threw it over my shoulders.All I had to do now was wait for Auggie to show up, and we were gonna pick Chuck up then Stella.My doorbell rang, signifying that Auggie was here.

"Don't stay out too late!" My brother called after me.

"I probably won't!" I called back

My parents were away on holiday. They usually are. I don't blame them, my brother and I can be a headache sometimes.

"What's up clown." I teased his costume.

"I'm a pierrot." He groaned.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night." I sassed.

"Whatever, let's just go get Chuck." He sighed, getting back on his bike. I hopped on mine, trying not to break the fragile material in my bag.

"So Vee, are you excited for tonight?" Auggie started to converse.

"Hell yeah dude! Can't wait to see the look on Tommy's face when we throw flaming shit at him." I laughed at the thought.

I got the nickname "Vee" from my friends after they learned that Evelyn doesn't really roll off the tongue.
