We all rode in Ramon's car to this so-called haunted house. The Bellows Estate. This place will never fail to creep me out. The thought of someone locking up their own family member because they look different makes me sick.

Ramon had parked his car outside the fence, and we all got out. The moon was full, making me get all the wrong signals.

"You weren't kidding." Ramon said, admiring the scariness of the house.

"Told you it wouldn't disappoint." Stella replied.

We started to walk up to the fence for a closer look.

"You'd think on Halloween, this place would be hopping." Ramon said.

"Oh, it was, for a while." Chuck clarified. "Then some kid went missing so they boarded it up. I think it's being torn down for a mall or something."

We all stopped to look at the Victorian style house.

"Good riddance, this place never fails to scare me to hell and back." I muttered.

"Hey, guys." Stella got our attention.

There was a way through the fence.

Oh hell no.

Before I could say anything Stella was already through the small opening. Ramon followed.

"Clowns first." Chuck smirked at Auggie.

"Really?" Auggue sighed in annoyance and shoved Chuck in. "Cmon Vee."

I sighed and entered with them. We all walked up to the house. I had to admit, it was a pretty house. But I couldn't get over the feeling that we're walking to our graves.

"Okay," I said "There, we saw it. Can we go now?"

"Pfft. Who ordered the chicken?" Chuck teased.

"I agree with Vee, we should get out of here." Auggie said.

Chuck started making chicken noises.

"Because I don't like to spend my nights in a house where a child murderer lived?" He asked sarcastically.

Chuck continued to get in our faces, literally.

"Someone was killed in that house? That's pretty dark. Who lived here?" Ramon asked.

"The Bellows." Stella answered. "One of the first families to settle down here in the late 19th century."

"Built the paper mill that pretty much put this town on the map." Chuck explained.

Ramon and Stella climbed the fence around the porch.

"We could at least look for some stairs." Aiggie muttered climbing the fence.

Chuck followed suit, just without complaining. I stared at the house in front of me. I was regretting everything in that moment, but I climbed the fence because I'm gonna die anyways. I slipped on one of the loose spots and fell back.

"Christ on stick!" I yelled as I fell.

"Vee, jesus be careful!" Chuck yelled at me. He held out his hand. "Here, I'll help you up."

I looked at him for a minute. His brown eyes and hair glowed under the moonlight. Dont get sucked into this... absolutely fucking beautiful man. Dont fucking do it Evelyn!

I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up and over the fence.

Oh, well, there goes any hope for Vee.
