“Yes, there will be two of us.” Harry said into his cell phone as he was riding in the front seat of Niall Horan’s car.  Niall was one of his band mates in One Direction. He recently flew in from Ireland, where he lives, and immediately called Harry to get together.

“What is the name, sir?” the restaurant hostess said into the phone.

“Styles. S-T-Y-L-E-S.”  Harry spelled out his name to ensure there was no mix-up. He rarely said his full name over the phone when making a reservation. He didn’t want special treatment and never wanted to draw attention to his status when it could be avoided.  Harry hung up the phone after making a reservation at the restaurant he would be meeting Sarah tomorrow night.

“You puked? Damn Harry, that is embarrassing, even for you.”  Niall said as they turned onto the freeway.

“Yeah, you’re telling me.  I sent her flowers this morning because I felt so bad. She practically had to carry me home. Worst feeling in the world.”  Harry expressed his embarrassment for the situation on Saturday and Niall couldn’t stop laughing at him.

The car came to a stop and the two jumped out.  Niall opened the trunk and pulled out the golf club bag.  The two walked up casually to the window and each bought a bucket of golf balls.  The girl behind the counter smiled, trying to flirt with Harry and Niall, but both paid no attention, as they were deep in their conversation about Harry’s disastrous date with Sarah.

“So, you like her?” Niall said as he lobbed the golf ball into the wide-open space in front of him.  The two liked to hang out and got along great.  Even on their days off, the boys liked to hang out with each other. They spent so much time throughout the year, they are more like family, and felt comfortable going out or staying at home.

Harry paused and looked at Niall, “Yeah. I really do.” Harry passed his hand through his hair and had a smirk on his face. “I know I’ve only just met her, but we’ve hung out, we talk on the phone, and I feel surprisingly comfortable around her.”

Niall turned around and asked Harry what he meant about “comfortable.”

“She doesn’t treat me like every one else, ya know?  She didn’t even know who I was when we first met.  She’s different, a good different. When she looks at me, it’s like she’s really looking at me, ya know?  I’ve never had someone treat me like I was ‘normal’ since before x-factor.”  Harry placed the golf club under his arm as he put air-quotes around the word “normal.”

“Man. I’m really happy for you.  It’s good that you rented out that Starbucks I guess huh?” Niall laughed and hit another golf ball.

The two young men hit the 100 golf balls in each of their buckets for the next few hours. Niall had been dealing with writer’s block and Harry reassured him that he was writing a lot lately.  The band was to start recording their album in the next few weeks. As on all their other albums, the songs and melodies were being compiled by all members of the group. They laughed and reminisced about the last few years of their band; the places they visited and the people they came into contact with.  Both boys felt very blessed as they both swung the golf club; they spotted a few fans nearby starring.

“Can’t even hit a fucking golf ball without getting noticed.” Niall said and the two young men walked over to the fans to take photos and say ‘hello.’
