Harry and Sarah planned a date during the day on Saturday. She had an early appointment on Sunday morning and didn’t want to be out late the night before.  Harry understood and was happy when he woke up on Saturday to see the sky was blue and the weather was warmer than the past few weeks.

As he waited at the traffic light before her apartment, he revved his engine anticipating the light to turn green.  He pulled up front and she was talking to a woman in the apartment lobby. He watched her for a moment as she ran her fingers through her hair and laughed.  She was kind and gentle towards the elderly woman, as she pushed the elevator button for her and helped her onto the elevator.

Harry quickly got out of his car and met her at the lobby door. “You look amazing today.”

“You are earning those brownie points quickly.” She joked as she got into the passenger side of his car.

She wore a pair of khaki shorts and a t-shirt that hugged her body ever so slightly.  Her hair was in a ponytail and she definitely dressed for the occasion. Over her arm was a sweater and she had on brightly colored sneakers that matched her t-shirt. Harry told her to dress comfortably and that they would be enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors.  She crossed her legs in the front seat and Harry watched as she placed her hands on her knee.

He knew that he was taking a risk with bringing her to his place today. But, he felt different about Sarah. She treated him like no one else and could tell by the way she spoke to him on the phone the past few days.  He can’t remember the last time someone genuinely asked him how he was doing, but she found ways to ask every time they spoke.

Harry asked if she was hungry and she quickly answered ‘yes.’  He was excited to see her and wanted to treat this girl differently. He wanted it to be different. He didn’t want any thing to ruin it this time.  He took the turn quick and Sarah pressed her arm against Harry’s to balance herself in the car.

“You did that on purpose!”  Sarah laughed and elbowed him.

Harry smirked as he looked at her and pulled onto a dirt road. They had been driving for about 20 minutes and Sarah realized she had no idea where they were.  The road was bumpy and Harry drove quick enough to show that he knew the road well. He came here often and finally came to a stop at the end of the road.

“Um..are you murdering me out here?”  Sarah said as she looked around at the disserted area and took note of the woods ahead of them.

Harry laughed out loud and told her to get out of the car.  “Come on.”   Sarah hesitated as she tucked her hair behind her ear and saw Harry grab a backpack out of the backseat. “I’m not going to murder you!”

The two of them walked for a while, along a dirt road. Harry wore khaki cargo shorts and a black t-shirt, along with lime green cross-trainers.  He was just as comfortable as Sarah, but he had been here before and knew that sneakers were the way to go.  They talked about the scenery and admired the flowers blossoming around them, as the woods cleared and opened into a beautiful valley of green.
