Duel Of Dragons

Alduin heard a distant shout, Fjord must have found her.

"Follow me!" The three dragons took into the air, and flew towards the town. The guards were shooting volley after volley of arrows into Miraxsil's hide, but she didn't seem very bothered about it.

"Go away, meddlesome humans!" Her tail came around, and swept three guards off their feet.

"No! We fight for our town!" The leader yelled. Fjord drew his bow, and went back into the crowd of guards. He notched an arrow, and fired. It was a rather embarrassing miss.

"Can't you use that bow you have, traveller?" The captain commented, sinking an arrow into the dragoness' hide. Fjord sighed.

"I'm more of a sword kind of guy..."

The three dragons did a pass over the town, to survey the situation. Miraxsil was fighting the guards, and Fjord, who was not having much luck with his bow. Alduin felt a sharp pain in his tail, and found that the guards were shooting at him.

"IDIOTIC JOORE! WE ARE HERE TO ASSIST YOU!" Alduin roared furiously. The guards focused their fire on Miraxsil. The dragoness' head turned up to the sky, where the three dragons were circling. She hissed.

"COME AND FIGHT ME, ALDUIN! LET'S SEE IF YOU'RE STILL A COWARD!" Miraxsil roared.

"Go and help Fjord and the guards. I will fight her." Alduin commanded. The other two dragons took turns swooping at Miraxsil.

Miraxsil glowered at the guards and Fjord.

"This isn't your fight. Leave, and be spared." The remaining guards looked at each other. They decided to evacuate the town, and then leave. That left Fjord.

"Dragonborn. I have no wish to kill you, but have no qualms about it should you get in the way. This is your only warning. Leave." Fjord thought her offer over. It was simple, really.

"These dragons are my only friends. I have no choice. Fo Ah, Dinok!" The frost dragon swooped down, and landed. Fjord mounted him, and gave a mock salute to Miraxsil.

"Alright, let's kick some ass!" They took into the air. Miraxsil sighed, not wanting to spill too much dragon blood.

"ALDUIN. FIGHT ME WITHOUT THE PROTECTION OF YOUR SERVANTS!" Miraxsil snarled.

All three were attacking her, until Miraxsil got an idea... an awful idea... She waited until Fjord and Foahdinok went in for another attack, then she smacked them with her foreclaw.

Fjord fell, and landed roughly on the ground. Foahdinok made to grab him, but Miraxsil butted him aside with her horns. She grabbed Fjord in her claws, and held him up.

"Stop, Alduin. I will kill him if you don't. Call off your other servant." Alduin muttered something in Dov to Tilpaar, and she stopped her attacks. All three dragons landed in front of Miraxsil. She set the stunned Fjord gently down behind her, and pinned him with her tail.

"I assume you will not let him go until I fight you?" Alduin huffed. Miraxsil's eyes widened, then narrowed.

"You know I can't speak your tongue! Speak English!" Alduin repeated himself, but in English.

"You would be correct. If I win, I get the satisfaction of giving you what you deserve. Death. If you win, you get Fjord back. Know I will hunt you relentlessly, coward." She spat on his wing. Alduin bristled at this rude gesture.

"I accept. I take this is not a death duel?"

"Correct. First to give in is the loser." Fjord shifted under Miraxsil's tail.

"Hey, why do you hate Alduin so much? Also, why does he hate you back?" The two dragons growled.

"None of your business, Fjord. Let's just fight already." Miraxsil removed her tail from Fjord, grabbed him in her claw, and tossed him over to Foahdinok, who caught him in his mouth.

"Mhhgfhjhvg!" Foahdinok spat a very slobbery Khajiit onto the ground. Alduin and Miraxsil took their positions on the opposite sides of Riverwood. They both bowed, looking very forced on both parts. Without warning, Miraxsil charged Alduin.

Alduin leapt into the air, scarcely avoiding her horns. He retaliated with a fire blast to her back, making her screech loudly.

Miraxsil leapt up on her hind legs, and scratched Alduin's underbelly.

"THAT ALL YOU GOT?!" He roared, and swooped down onto the back of her neck, clawing and biting. She thrashed, and he was flung off. Taking advantage of his stunned state, she grabbed him and flung him into the ground. Miraxsil pinned him by holding both her foreclaws down on his wings, and sat on his lower body.

"Alduin, the World-Eater, pinned beneath me. You hardly put up a fight, Alduin the World-Nibbler." He just growled at her sentence, trying to shift away.

"Oh, that won't work. I grew to a terrific size, don't you think? Much bigger than you." She purred.

"I will never submit to you..."

"Oh, but I think you will, Alduin. You are completely at my mercy. I can do anything to you from this position." While Miraxsil and Alduin continued their banter, Fjord drew his sword. If they were both distracted, maybe he could get a slash or two in, enough to distract her...

Miraxsil didn't notice Fjord raising his blade above her tail before it was too late to stop him. He swung it down with a grunt, lodging it deep in her tail. She screeched in pain.Being unprepared, she did what her instincts told her to. Her tail swung and caught Fjord in the stomach, winding him and swinging him into the nearby building. She released Alduin, but not before giving him a harsh bite to the chest. Miraxsil yanked the sword out of her tail, and walked toward Fjord. She grabbed him in her claw.

Fjord was alive, just unconscious. She was furious, but decided against wringing his neck. He could be useful, after all. Foahdinok and Tilpaar walked over to Alduin, and helped him onto his wings. He stared at the dragoness, she was practically steaming with fury.

"Alduin. You could have submitted, and not cheated like the coward you are. But now..." Her grip tightened slightly.

"You deserve worse than death." Her wings were slowly spreading now, unfurling to the sky. Just before she took off, taking Fjord with her, she turned to face Alduin, and snarled.

"How does it feel, Alduin, to lose a second friend to cowardice?" With that, she took off, leaving behind a shocked Alduin and confused allies.

A/N

Oh, I'm so evil! Leaving behind a cliffhanger like this! I wonder what Alduin did to earn Miraxsil's hatred? Also, why do you think she calls him a coward numerous times? Leave a comment below!

P.S. Do you think poor Fjord will be okay? (I sure hope so.)
