Memories swished and swirled around Tilpaar, until she was spat out into the sky. Tilpaar was flying towards a large mountain, with a cave on the rock face. Soon, she landed and went inside.
The first thing she noticed was the smell. It smelt like burnt flesh, with hints of sulphur. Not your most pleasant aroma. The cavern was relatively small, compared to Alduin's.
This is rather unimpressive... Where's the backstory Alduin promised to show me?
Tilpaar was not prepared for the dragoness that snuck up behind her.
"Greetings, Alduin." Tilpaar jumped internally. It was not fun being stuck in Alduin's perspective...
"Hello, Miraxsil. I see you couldn't wait for me?" The dragoness impatiently thumped her tail against the ground.
"Of course. I haven't seen you in a week. We're going on a hunt together, whether or not you're interested." Miraxsil started leading Alduin out of the cave, and Tilpaar mentally rolled her eyes.
So this is what he didn't want me to see. His awkward crush phase...
Tilpaar followed Miraxsil, and they spent a good deal of the afternoon hunting. Their haul was excellent, two bears and four cattle. The farmer did not like his cattle being raided, but sacrifices had to be made.
Tilpaar was enjoying the taste of the cattle when she was yanked forward through memories, being hurtled into the midst of a raging battle.
Didn't even have the decency to let me finish my food.
Tilpaar's thoughts were interrupted when an arrow struck her in the wing membrane, ripping it slightly.
Alduin's body ripped toward the attacker, shooting flame and incinerating them. All around Tilpaar, dragons were fighting Blades, and a particular dragoness was dispatching them with ease. Miraxsil.
"Alduin! A little help over here!" Tilpaar turned to see Miraxsil being pelted with arrows, most clinking off her scales, but a few wedging their way between her armour plates. Alduin's body flew over, and did a swoop, scorching half with his fire. Miraxsil swept her tail around, flinging three Blades away. The remaining four stood their ground, and drew their swords.
Alduin's body landed, right on top on one of them, biting another clean in half with his jaws. Miraxsil lunged for the other two, grabbing them in her foreclaws, and slamming them into the ground, their necks making a sickening crunch noise.
"You didn't even need help."
"I like fighting with you."
Over the course of the battle, Alduin and Miraxsil fought side by side, killing many. The battle seemed to have ended, with victory for no one. The two were still alive, with Alduin being more wounded.
Close to the two dragons
"Alright, that's it... Little to the left... There we go... fire!" A large boulder struck Miraxsil in the back leg, causing her to fall over. She landed in a pile of Blades corpses with a squelching noise.
"Miraxsil! Can you stand?" The dragoness let out a disconnected grunt, and attempted to stand, only to fall back onto the ground. Her leg stuck out at an odd angle, clearly broken.
"I can't stand. Alduin, behind-!" Alduin leapt out of the way just in time, a boulder struck the spot where he had been a moment ago. He hovered around Miraxsil, trying to protect her.
The last group of Blades was starting to advance, along with their catapult. Their archers focused fire on Alduin, arrows hitting his hide, and some piercing his wing membranes.
Could you wrap this up? I'm not exactly in the mood for pain...
Despite Alduin's efforts, the Blades still advanced, and reached Miraxsil. She snarled, and snapped her jaws at them, but the leader just laughed.
"Cute. We should take you home with us. Any objections?" She growled, and bit the closest one's leg harshly.
"ALDUIN! SOME HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!" Alduin circled above the Blades and Miraxsil, his wings bleeding. Debating it over in his head if he should help the dragoness. The Blades made the decision for him, readying the catapult and firing it at him. He rolled out of the way, and turned around.
"Apologies, Miraxsil." With that, he started flying away, self preservation had won.
"ALDUIN! COME BACK HERE! COWARD!" The last words he heard from her mouth were not happy ones.
Huh, so he actually chickened out. I didn't expect that to happen. Tilpaar was yanked out of Alduin's memories forcefully, and was brought back to the Throat Of The World. Alduin removed his snout from hers, and walked backward, sitting in the snow.
"Well Tilpaar, are you satisfied now? Your urges taken care of?" Alduin spoke irritably.
"Alduin, I had no idea..." Alduin simply growled, turning away from Tilpaar. He spread his wings and before he took to the sky, he gave one last glare to Tilpaar before flying off.
"So Tilpaar, what happened?" Foahdinok made his way over to her.
"Oh. You are injured." Tilpaar rolled her eyes.
"Oh, you scaly hatchling. I'll be fine. It's only a few arrow wounds." Foahdinok disagreed, Tilpaar practically had a small crest of them framing her neck.
"Just tell me what happened. I wish to know." After telling the story to Foahdinok, he sat there, in the snow.
"How are we supposed to get Fjord back? This hardly helped at all."
"It still did. We know now that the most effective way to damage her is not trying to puncture her hide, but rather breaking her bones."
"Well, I guess all we have to do is break a huge dragoness' bones. Easy." The frost dragon stated sarcastically.
Miraxsil's Lair, present day
She dropped the little bundle of fur and flesh onto the ground of her cave, before landing. Fjord was wounded, but he would live.
"Uhhh... What are you going to do to me?" The dragoness simply laughed.
"Little Dragonborn, why would I divulge my plan to you?"
"I'll admit, I hadn't thought that through."
"I am going to ask you where Alduin is. Tell me his location, and I reward you. Lie, or refuse, I punish you. If you truly do not know, I can always keep you as live bait. Sound fair?" Fjord did not think this sounded fair. This sounded like a death trap.
"Now, where is Alduin?"
