Jay and I talked a lot over breakfast, it was actually really interesting to get to know him a little more, he told me that his brother was a doctor over at Chicago Med and they weren't the best brothers but have grown closer and I'm happy for them, it seems like Jay doesn't have a lot of family around him, to be honest I was surprised to hear that, I don't know why but I assumed that he was a mommy's boy, only son and had a rich dad...

Ironic, I think that basically I saw myself in him, in some kind of way. I told him about my family, honestly, I was surprised because I never tell people that I just met about my family but there's something in him that makes me tell him everything.

"So basically, your step-mother is a bitch? Jay asks while laughing and sipping his coffee

"yeah, basically" I answer him and eat some fruit

"well, if anyone can handle a bitch is you" Jay says

"And why is that Halstead?" I ask him smirking

"Well, you must be used to deal with your own species" he says and starts laughing so hard that I start to see tears forming in his eyes, I fake a hurt expression and kick him under the table and he laughs even more

"You didn't just said that, oh my god, you don't even know me that well!" I tell him laughing

"I have a radar" he says and winks at me

"So, why are you having breakfast with a bitch?" I ask him looking at his eyes

"There's different types of bitches, you're one that I like to keep around to entertain me" he says and realizes how that sounded "oh gosh, that's not what I meant, I just think that you are funny, like...like you're a funny bitch, got it?" he asks worried and I just start to laugh really hard making other people look at us

"Wow, I've been called bitch a lot of times but never a funny one, usually I'm in the annoying bitch category" I tell him sipping my coffee "I also think that you are a funny bitch, Jay Halstead" and with that sentence we both start crying from laughter

After 30 minutes talking, we receive a text from Voight telling us to meet him because we got a new case, we go to Jay's car since I left mine at home and drive to the address that Voight sent us.

When they arrive at the scene Voight gave all the information, they found a girl with a huge cut on her stomach.

"So, our Jane Doe is Latina. Mid to late 20s. Negative on the prints. Nothing in our databases." Antonio informs the team.

"M.E. is still processing the body." Hailey says walking closer to us.

"But it appears she was a drug mule?" Kevin asks covering the body again.

"Yeah, and they had a problem recovering the product, so they gutted her like a farm animal." I say full of disgust for the person who had the courage to do something like this to someone.

"Dope's worth more than the carriers." Jay says also with a look of disgust on his face.

"Rigor puts time of death between 6:00 and 8:00 last night." Hailey says again while looking at the crime report "Crime scene techs found very little blood on the scene, so she was killed someplace else, and then dropped here."

"Why's homicide passing this off on us?" Adam asks Voight with confusion.

"I said we'd take it." Antonio answers quickly.

"Mm. I bet Homicide was really sorry to see this one go." Adam says again hitting Kevin's arm.

"All right, send out patrol to canvass the neighborhood where the body was found. Check pod cameras, missing persons. This young lady didn't just fall from the sky." Voight orders the team.
