CHAPTER 19

~3rd Person POV~

Inside one of the many rooms of the Bogdan's Palace, the emperor is busy sorting out some documents he needed after his meeting with the other emperors earlier.

Viscountess Ranni Un Shaw was beside his table and was helping him sort out some documents. She also went to take a day off her work in tutoring children to work as a translator since some of the documents are written in many different dialects.

The emperor was quite pissed since he expected that the two other empires will send him some documents that was already translated. He has no choice but to ask for the viscountess.

"Viscountess Un Shaw, is it really alright for you to help me?"

The emperor is worried for the elder woman. He's thinking that she was only forced to help him since he is the emperor and she has no choice.

"Of course, nothing is more important than helping Your Majesty!"

She smiled while she continues to take some papers that were needed to be translated.

"Didn't I tell you to just call me Luther in private?"

The emperor sighed remembering the time when he was just a crown prince and when the viscountess was still working for the empire.

"Your Majesty, you know I cannot do that!"

"Viscountess...the reason why father let you inherit the viscount title is for you to relax and be at ease, you were a late friend of my father and one of my advisors before..."

"I know that, Your Majesty! "

Lady Ranni giggled. The emperor was still a nice man she remembered him to be, although there are some rumors that the emperor was actually a tyrant in secret.

Lady Ranni Un Shaw was the emperor's former advisor when he was just a crown prince. She also became his mother figure after his mother died when he was young and it was because he needed love from a mother. The emperor is not close with his half-sister, the late Duchess Elainne and the former empress who only sees him as a nuisance since he was a child of a palace maid.

Emperor Luther even offered Lady Ranni to live in the palace in luxury but she refused and instead teach young children about etiquettes and manners after she became a viscountess although she assures the emperor that she'll immediately head to the palace if he needs some assistance.

While the two are remembering their past, a knock from outside the door's office was heard.

"Come in"

"Your Majesty, there was a commotion earlier at the Public Library"

The imperial knight bowed infront of the emperor before informing him about the news.

"A commotion?"

The emperor asked the knight without looking at him which hints his disinterest.
