Thanksgiving Day

Audri's POV

I woke up in my own bed although I didn't fall asleep here. The last thing I remember was watching movies with Judith, Justin, Khalil, and Leah. Judah went to work last night so Leah spent the night at our house. We've kind of converted Judah's room into an entertainment room.

I immediately looked at the clock on my iHome. Hmm 8:47. I didn't smell any food cooking so assumed that everyone was asleep. I decided to go for a run so I called Sierra and invited her to go with me.

As Sierra and I trotted down the trail, I filled her in on the latest.

"How the hell did Justin convince your dad to have Thanksgiving at his place?" I laughed. Everyone knows how stubborn my dad can be.

"Girl, who knows. I'm still in shock."

"Who's all coming?" she asked.

"Dad, Janine, the siblings minus Junior, you and Leah. That's it for me."

"What about Justin's family?"

"I know his mom and a few of his friends are coming, but I'm not sure. He didn't really tell me much."

"The most important question is who's cooking?" she asked seriously and I burst into laughter.

"Janine, Pattie, Dad, and I think Judith is helping."

"Alright, sounds safe," she giggled. "So I've noticed you've been a lot more pleasant lately," she raised her eyebrow. I already knew what was coming. "He put it down, didn't he?" she assumed.

"Are you really asking me this?"

"Don't act like you're embarrassed, we're best friends so anything is fair game." She was most definitely right. She was the only friend that I told absolutely everything to. I used to have McKenzie, but the friendships were always different. I decided to just tell her everything that happened last week at the Mandarin Oriental.

"While you were at work girl?" she laughed. I smiled and nodded my head in reply. "What has he trying to make up for?" she asked.

I stopped running, "Nothing Sierra! We haven't seen each other in three months. He just missed me."

"Audri, you don't have to get defensive. It was just a question."

I shrugged it off and we finished our run then headed back to my house to get ready. As we stepped into the house, I could see Janine standing in the kitchen cooking some desserts for tonight.

"Hey sweetheart, hello Sierra," she looked over her shoulder.

"Hey Janine," I said without stopping. Sierra spoke to her before she followed me upstairs to my room.

"You can go into Judith's bathroom," I told her as I grabbed my floral skater skirt and oversized tan sweater out of my closet. I went over to my drawer and grabbed a bra and panties before heading to my bathroom.

When I got out of the shower, I got dressed and grabbed my tan thigh high boots then went back into my bathroom and wiped my foggy mirror. My hair needed to be done so I straightened it and curled the ends. After that, I applied some makeup; concealer, foundation, eyeliner, mascara. When I was finally done with my appearance, I tousled my hair with my fingers and left the bathroom.

I walked downstairs as Sierra finished getting ready in my bathroom. When I entered the living room, my parents were in a fit of laughter. "What's funny? I want to laugh too."

"Hey there pretty girl," my dad spoke. I walked over to him and kissed his cheek before sitting on the arm of the chair.

"We were just talking about old times," Janine interrupted, but my attention was diverted to the opening door.
