I had to call Nat and Alex over to help me out with my outfit for the date.

Days seemed to have flown by. In no time it was Saturday. The date hadn't even begun and I was already freaking out. But Nat and Alex were there to help me relax.

" This dress is too revealing. I cannot pull this off, " I said as I looked at the dress Nat had picked out.

" Girl, it's the perfect outfit. Go change into it right now," Alex said with her arms crossed and her eyes shooting daggers at me.

Alex can be scary at times so I obliged and quickly changed into that dress.

As soon as I walked into the room wearing it, Alex and Nat were looking at me from head to toe. They said nothing. They were just gawking at me.

" What? Does it not look good? I told y'all I couldn't pull this off, " I said as I turned around to go and change into something else.

" Stop right there, young lady. Turn around, " Nat's voice commanded.

" Just take a look at yourself in the mirror, will you? " Alex dragged my arm and placed me in front of the mirror.

The girl in the mirror was wearing a maroon coloured lace dress that reached her knees. It was backless and revealed her arms. Its midsection was covered in lace, decorated with stones. Her wavy hair rested on her shoulders and her hazel deep-set eyes were no more hidden behind a frame. She looked beautiful.

" You look absolutely stunning, Jen," Nat squealed in excitement.

She was right. I did look pretty. It had been a while since I felt this pretty. Although I was nervous to wear a revealing dress, it only added to the beauty of it.

I heard the doorbell ring and Cassie's voice called out, " Jen, your date's here."

" This is it. Just relax, okay? You look amazing and you're gonna walk out that door and Mr. Gorgeous eyes wouldn't be able to take his eyes off of you," Alex said as she held my hand.

"Good luck and we need every little detail tomorrow," Nat said

I chuckled and gave them both a tight hug. " Thank you so much guys."

" You're welcome. Now go," Alex said as she tucked a few strands of my hair behind my ear.

I walked out of my room and through the door. Before me was standing a man wearing a black shirt and black pants. His shirt was neatly tucked in and sleeves were halfway rolled up. His hair was neatly combed and a few strands rested on his forehead. Black was surely his colour.
He looked just as handsome as when I had dressed him for his date. The only difference was that this time, I was his date.

He walked towards me, placed a kiss on my forehead and said, " You look beautiful tonight, Jen."

" You too," I said as I looked into his hypnotising dark eyes.

" Shall we?" He stretched out his arm and I wrapped my hand around his.

" Where are we going?" I asked him

" You'll see. It's not too far away so do you mind walking with me?"

" Of course not. A walk sounds perfect," I said with a smile.

Who doesn't love a nice romantic walk at night on an almost empty street, covered with trees on both sides with your date's arms wrapped around yours?

" But before I forget, I have something for you," Zeph said as he slid his hand into his back pocket and pulled out a small white box.

" What is this?" I asked as I took the box in my hand.
" Open it," he said.

I opened the box and there rested a silver necklace attached with a heart-shaped locket in the center. The locket's border was adorned with shiny stones.

" It's beautiful," I said as I took out the necklace and placed it on my palm.

" The locket can open as well. It's empty right now. But I want you to put the picture of the person you love most inside it," he said while unlocking the locket.

Maybe I'll end up putting your picture in it, Zeph.

" I will. Thank you," I said as I fidgeted with the clasp of the necklace around my neck.

" Allow me." Zeph made his way behind me, moved my hair away and clasped my necklace. He kissed the back of my neck gently and whispered, " Done. A pretty necklace on a pretty woman."

It felt as if a jolt of electricity had run down my spine. My body stiffened and my cheeks turned red. I felt an arm around my waist and returned to my senses.

" I'm sorry. I didn't get you anything," I said to him.

" Jen, I didn't get you this gift because I wanted something in return. It's called a gift for a reason," he said with his mouth curved up into a smile.

We continued our walk, laughing and talking about all sorts of things. I didn't want this to end. This was perfect. Wish, time could just freeze right now.

" We're here!" Zeph exclaimed.
