-PROLOGUE-

I groan pushing my way through the crowded airport, “Mom! Dad?” I knew deciding to join them on this sports trip would be ridiculous. My adoptive father, Phil, is a baseball player in minor leagues and my adoptive mother, Renee, follows the man around like a lost puppy.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, preventing me from moving any further. I felt like my senses had just been wiped from me. My vision was gone, I couldn’t hear or smell anything. What was happening? When my senses were back, all I could see were little filters of light. It took me a few seconds to understand... there was a cloth over my eyes and I was being kidnapped.

I tried to scream, but the second I did, I felt like I was being shot. An indescribably intense pain hit me like a train making me shut up instantly. “If you are smart, young one, you will stay silent until we say otherwise,” A girl’s monotone voice sounded. At least my senses we restored.

Tears sprung from my eyes, but I sobbed silently. I was probably going to die and never see Renee or Phil again. Why were they doing this? I knew I couldn’t act weak, I had to give them the most difficult time as possible - I was good as dead at this point anyway.

The purr of the car stopped and I hear the doors open. Was I going to be killed now? I heard the door nearest to me open, and I felt someone pull me upright and the blind was off. I blink a few times and saw a group of stunning people before me. The two in the front were obviously twins. A girl and a boy with dark brown hair and... red eyes? The large men behind them had dark hair and red eyes, as well as a chalky complexion. Were they all part of some cult?

“We have to take a trip by plane, if you scream or try to run away just once, Alec will not hesitate to cut your senses of again. Do you understand?”

“Why would I agree to do-”

“Listen human,” The girl hisses and the pain is back, but I refuse to scream as I maintain a death grip on the car seat. “You will do what we say from now on. If you don’t like it, that is too bad. I have specific orders to bring you somewhere and if you are going to be difficult, this will be a long trip for the both of us. Understand?”

The pain disappears and I glare at the four, “What are you?”

“She asked a question-”

“It’s quite alright, Demitri,” The girl interrupts. “You will find that out all in due time, if you are able to keep that mouth shut.”

“I will only be going quietly and willingly if you can answer one question.”

“You are just digging a grave for yourself, kid,” Demitri commented. “Let’s go or we will be late.”

The boy twin, grabs me out of the car and closes the door while out of the corner of my eyes I see the two big men with a can of gasoline and a match. I stare open mouthed at the sight of the burning car. “Destroying the evidence,” The boy’s melodic voice explains. “I’m hoping, I will not have to shut you up again. Aro won’t be pleased if we have to damage you.”

“Damage?”

“Just keep quiet. We will answer questions once we get there.”

“Where?”

“Home.”

I really didn’t want to feel the girl’s wrath again so I kept quiet for the entire plane ride. I ended up falling asleep in between the troublesome twins since the flight seemed like it was never going to end. What was home for them? This had to be some strange cult.
