I jolted awake, gripping the blankets to my chest. "Babe?" Tom was half asleep beside me, it was almost 2 in the morning. "I'm sorry, love. Go back to sleep." I kissed his forehead before climbing out of bed. He shuffled around before sitting up, "Where are you going, my darling?" I sighed, "I...I had a nightmare.." He opened his arms out and I immediately ran into them.
He enveloped me tight into his warm chest, stroking my hair. "I've got you, darling." I snuggled into his arms, slowly falling back asleep. "I've got you." He repeated until I fell asleep.
I woke up several hours later freezing cold so I snuggled closer into Tom's arm. He pulled me into his chest, it warmed me up almost instantly. "Good morning my queen." He mumbled into a kiss on my forehead. "Mm, good morning my king." I looked up at him, his blue eyes slightly hazed with sleep. I smiled as he rubbed his eyes. "What is it? Is something wrong?" I playfully pouted, "Yes, actually. There is something wrong." He looked confused, "What's wrong, darling?" "You're not kissing me." He grinned widely as he pulled me in for a kiss.
We both smiled into it, as he pulled the covers over us. The kiss heated my insides as it got more intense until. "Thomas? Are you home?" There was a woman speaking. "Who is that?" I mouthed. "My mum." He whispered. "I'm in my bedroom, mum." He answered her as she came walking towards us.
"Should I hide or?" I asked, realizing that I was in his sweatshirt and some leggings. "No, you're alright." He reassured me as his mother walked in. "Tom, my boy?" He uncovered us. "Hello, mum." He climbed out of bed and hugged her. He looked so much like her. "Hello, sweetheart. Who is this?" She smiled at me as I sat up. "I'm Katherine Maccormack, Mrs. Felton. But you may call me Kara. I'm your son's girlfriend.."
Mrs. Felton smiled even more, "Tom, when were you going to tell me that you met a gorgeous young woman?" I blushed badly at her kind words, climbing out of bed. "I was going to soon, mum." He wrapped his arm around me. She examined me as we walked into the living room and took a seat. "Wait. Why do you look so familiar? Are you the Katherine Maccormack that danced on Broadway five years ago?" My blush worsened, "Yes, ma'am. That was me." Tom looked at me in shock. "That was you, darling?"
The love of my life had seen me dance on Broadway? What were the chances of that? I had been dancing my entire life and one day after our spring musical my junior year, a man came up to me. He said, "You're gonna go far, kiddo. Here's my card." So after I graduated from high school, I called him and he told me about a dance audition, and after hours of convincing my parents, so I went. Little did I know I would end up on Broadway at nineteen years old.
I blushed at Tom, "Yeah. That was me." I was in the show Burn The Floor. So to say I was forced out of my comfort zone was an understatement because, I somehow got the lead without trying to or necessarily wanting it, some of the costumes were a bit risqué. But nonetheless, I loved it and had an amazing experience.
"You were incredible. Your movements, just everything. I wanted to say hello but I was getting mobbed by fans." Tom looked at me. "You're too good for me sometimes, love." I giggled then turned to his mom. "Mrs. Felton?" "Yes, dear?" I rubbed my arm slightly. "I just wanted to say thank you for raising your son to be a gentleman." She smiled with pride, "Isn't that a mother's job? To make sure her son knows how to treat and respect women?" I nodded, "Yes. Well, you did a wonderful job with Tom." He blushed, "Oh Kare bear.. you're too sweet." His mother grinned, "You're absolutely right, Kara. I did do a grand job with Tom." He covered his face with embarrassment, "I love you both but my cheeks can only handle so much blush." I giggled, "You're adorable, Tommy."
After calming down, Tom asked his mother why she was here. "I'm in town for a few days and wanted to see you before you got preoccupied." She smiled at me. Even after we explained the age gap, she didn't mind. She just wanted Tom to be happy with someone again. "Well, I have things to do. It was very nice to meet you, Kara. Hopefully it won't be the last time." She hugged me. "It was nice to meet you too, Mrs. Felton. It won't be, don't worry." She hugged Tom and left. I faced Tom, grinning widely. "Now where were we?" I giggled as he kissed me passionately.
