"Hey Anna! Can I come in?" I asked after knocking on her door but got no feedback.
I could now hear someone dragging their feet and comes towards the door. Then there is a few minutes of total silence before the door is opened.
"Don't you have school tommorow?" Anna asked and I just got into her room without answering her back.
"Oh hello there! This is my room! Didn't you attend classes where you are taught how to behave? Where is your discipline Sara?" Anna shouts as she starts to follow me inside and she also closed the door too.
I sit on one of the sofas she has placed on the opposite side of her bed. She stands a few feets away from me and stare at me like an international robber. Then she sighs and takes a seat on the opposite sofa. So now we are facing each other.
"And...?" Anna starts talking breaking the awkward silence.
I just stare back at her and then she moves frontwards and stretch out her hands while widening her eyes at my face, "will you talk? So what brings you here at this hour?"
*Sigh*
" I need to talk to you. I heard you cry" I finally got the courage to speak up, though it's a soft voice not even sure if Anna had me.
After a moment of silence she spoke affirming me that she had me at the first place, "and so you've started eavesdropping huh? And that too to your family?" She says harshly.
"Firstly, I wasn't eavesdropping at you. I was just going upstairs to my room and I heard you crying and secondly, there's no one who is my family in here. You know it as much as I know it that these people who leave here aren't family." I answered back this time loud enough for here to understand that am serious about this.
" Look Sara, you are a spoilt brat. You think and say what you wish. It's time now you get this in your head, WE are family. There's our mom, dad, bros and sister in law, you get it? And most of all I don't want to talk to you about anything." Anna started talking in that tone of hers that she got it from dad as he talk in a business conference. Too serious.
" It's ok if you want to convince yourself that they are family coz I won't buy that lie. And for your information, am sure as hell I heard you cry and I want to listen to you. You can shout, cry, laugh, insult me or anything of that sort but you have to share your burden with me." I stopped talking and look directly into her eyes then continued, "I care for you Anna. I love you so much. You are the only one apart from Helen that seem to be humans in this house. You know what. East or west, you are the best sister in the world. I got two bros but...only one sister. I have only you. I can't loose you."

"Sara...um... actually... you know...today Fred called after dinner. Pumpkin is sick. I miss my baby. You know what? I laid when I said I came over to visit you guys because I missed you all. The thing is that the day before I came here, I broke the rules at my in law's. I had hugged a maid when she helped me clean up Pumpkin's room and then later in the evening I had ice cream before the timr for actually super in the family. And as you know there we have meals at a specific time and should never eat before or after that." Anna explained as she cried and looked down at the green carpet.
