Chapter 3: *SPLASH*

(Krissy’s POV)

It was 5:45, one hour 15 minutes till the game. I was already in my uniform, so I just sat there after finishing my homework, with my friends. We were all in the forum sitting at a huge table doing homework before the game started. We would have to leave in 45 minutes to stretch out and get outside. 

Ok, so today was officially the worst day of my life. I was embarrassed in front of the whole entire gym, and rumors are spreading quickly, UGHH! Every guy and girl pretty much came up to me and asked me if I was "taken". I was like WTH?! When I realized some girl probably went and told the whole school about what happened in gym today. On top of that, I  got a B- on my English test.. and a B+ on my AP Calc test. (My parents will kill me!) And to top that. My best friend wasn't here..

I looked around for my best friend, Riley Mantes. I’ve known her for all my life pretty much. We’ve been best friends since Pre-School. We’ve always been there for each other. We’ve shared the same experiences, and her mom was like my second mom, as was my mom to her. I love her and she loves me, we’re like sisters! We've never gotten in a single fight, but obviously we made each other mad, but it was only funny at the end, because we both only took everything as a joke.

Someone wrapped their hands around my eyes.

“AAH! Who who the heck...?!” I squealed. As I heard a familiar laugh, of a girl.. My best friend, Riley Mantes.

“RILEY MANTES!!!” I screamed.

“KRISSY GOLDEN!!” She screamed.

Everyone looked up and saw me and Riley, and laughed.

She was fully dressed up in her cheer uniform, her beautiful blond hair swept into a side ponytail and straightened. Her eyes were sparkling green. I jumped out of my chair and pulled her into a bear hug. I quickly pushed away.

“Wait! Where the hell were you all day? Do you know how horribly embarrassing today has been? I don’t even want to know what will happen out in the field today!” I yelled at her.

She laughed, “Sorry, I felt sick this morning, so I stayed home. I wuz gonna call you, but I realized I’d be yelled at, so I just slept all day. Then I realized Coach Kelly would kill me if I weren't here today, cuz it's a tough match.”

“OOHH!! I had a 30 minute beauty nap too this morning! But.. I'm mad at you,” I pouted.

“Aww what happened?” She pouted too.

“Trust me, it was horrible.” I shook my head.

Becca and Ali started cracking up. 

I glanced at them and gave them an angry look. They covered their mouths to hide a smile.

“Here, let’s go get something to eat and drink, and you can tell me on the way,” She smiled.

I loved this girl, she was always there for me, and I was there for her.

“See Riley here, actually is nice, and cares about me! Unlike all of you!” I laughed as I pointed to Jaime, Becca, Nikki, Ali, and the rest of the cheerleaders.

“We’ll be back in 5 minutes, if Coach Kelly comes, tell her Riley came and we both went to get somethin’ to eat. Kay?” I quickly grabbed and clutch purse out of my backpack an started to walk with her.
