Alexis' first day of school had went well. Better than expected, that's for sure.

Although, aside from Gina, Alexis hadn't made any other friends in her classes but that was okay with her, at least she had one. Gina had come over that night and they'd studied lines for the musical. It was really fun and the girls had already gotten super close.

It was now after school the next day, and instead of walking home, Alexis was waiting in the auditorium for auditions to start. She looked around at all the kids there. They all seemed to know each other. They probably did, some of them could've been in multiple musicals together already.

They also all looked, very, well.... experienced. A few did, like, singing warmups and made weird noises. Others were going over the scripts.

Alexis looked away and tried not to let it throw her. She was just doing this for fun, trying to 'get out there' again and find a distraction. Alexis was hoping for ensemble if she were to even get a part at all.

Finally Miss Jen got the attention of all the excited theater kids in the room.

"Hello, everyone, hello." She clapped her hands. "What a great turnout, I wasn't expecting so many! This is awesome." She turned around and waved at the boy who was sitting in the desk next to her and waved him over.

"Guys, for the few of you who don't know, this is Carlos! He will be my assistant director for the musical. So why don't you go over how things will roll today?" She directed that last part at him.

"Of course!" Carlos turned to face everyone sitting upstage. "So, first we will be doing a little dance routine you guys will follow along, so we can see how you do with that. Then, we will hand out parts to read as we see fit, and you'll read for whoever we give you and sing the audition song. Okay, let's get started!" He smiled.

Everyone started to get up when Miss Jen caught the room's attention again. "Oh! My bad, numbers, people, numbers!"

She passed out papers with numbers written and safety pins to secure them to everyone's shirts.

Alexis glanced at the number she got. 77. Lucky times two.

Everyone gathered center stage and spread out for the dance. Gina gave her new friend a smile of encouragement, and then it was time to start.

Alexis glanced at Gina. She was doing amazing. Honestly, one of the best she'd seen. The girl thought her friend would have the part locked in.

Alexis herself wasn't doing too horribly. Not as awesome as Gina but after a while she got used to the flow of the movements and was on beat and not stumbling around like a few people.

Once that was over, everyone lined up and Miss Jen and Carlos went down passing out scripts.

"You, um... Kelsi!" She said to a girl with long brown hair.

"Gabriella," the girl piped up. "I want to audition for Gabriella."

"Okay..." Carlos trailed off, reluctantly handing the girl the script.

"Troy," Miss Jen said to a tall boy with blue eyes and dark hair. He flashed a smirky grin.

Alexis figured him and the long haired girl were dating by the way they acted toward each other.

"Nice, babe," the girl whispered to the boy, confirming Alexis' thoughts.

"Gabriella." Miss Jen said with no hesitation once she stood in front of Gina. Alexis leaned over all the people in between them and gave a thumbs up to her. Gina went up and read her part and sang, and of course she did wonderfully.
