On the last day of Thanksgiving break, Alexis had finally fallen asleep at around 2 am. Knowing she'd had school the next day, she tried to go to bed early, but for some reason she just couldn't fall asleep. She couldn't turn her mind off.
It was almost 3 am when her phone went off with a notification. Alexis hadn't even been sleeping for an hour and she was already a light sleeper, so it woke her right up. She cursed herself for not remembering to put on do not disturb.
Planning to ignore the notification and just turn off her ringer, Alexis grabbed her phone but when she saw the name that appeared on her screen, she sat straight up. She had gotten a text from Ricky.
