The Final Goodbye

"𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚔 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚙𝚎𝚘𝚙𝚕𝚎?"

Destariya woke up from a nightmare the images of Newt's pale body with purple and green veins and black liquid dripping from his mouth caused her heart to pound heavily. She looked to her left to check on Newt but she couldn't see him she then turned to her left to see that Thomas was no longer there either.

She cursed under her breath and raised her body from the floor walking towards Luke she shook his body causing him to jump up in shock. Once he understood that it was Destariya who woke him up he brushed the hair out of his face that fell out of his man bun and cleared his throat.

"Whats up Des?" He asked in a groggy voice.

"Luke do you know where Newt and Thomas have gone?" Destariya asked.

Luke sat up and looked around now more awake "No but Frys gone too"

Jorge who was sleeping next to Luke started to wake up he had an annoyed look on his face as he questioned why the two were up and why there were whispering so loud. Luke explained that Thomas, Newt, and Frypan had disappeared causing Jorge to sigh loudly. "I'll go check if any car has gone you wake up Bren" Destariya did as he said and the three of them waited for Jorge to get back. When he did he just shook his head at them "The car has gone and tier tracks are leading out"

Luke fixed his hair "So we are going after them right?" He questioned.

Destariya nodded "Yes we are Luke you get in the truck with me. Jorge you and Brenda follow behind none of the cars are big enough for us all I'll go get the keys"

Destariya turned around to go and get the keys but she was met with the face of Vincent "What are you all doing up?" He questioned.

"Thomas Newt and Frypan have gone off were going to get them," Destariya told him.

He nodded at her and tossed two sets of keys "Go get them, tiger"

It was now bright and they were still following the tracks they followed the tracks to a tunnel. The infection check. When they got closer they could hear screaming. When Destariya drove into the tunnel she slowed down to not alert the cranks causing Jorge to follow her actions. They saw loads of cranks around Thomas, Newt, and Frypan the car that they stole was upside down, and glass was scattered everywhere. They drove their cars right into them Brenda and Luke used their guns to shoot down the Cranks.

"Get in" Destariya shouted and they quickly jumped in. She began to drive again still knocking cranks out with both her car and the rocks around them. Luke looked behind him at the three boys.

"Well you almost lasted a full day" He joked.

Thomas looked over at his sister "Dee I can explain"

She shook her head and stopped the car on the top of a hill far away for the infection point "No. You said we'd do this together. And because of you and your spontaneous idea, all three of you almost died. Do you understand that? Do you understand how reckless that was?"

"I just wanted to get Minho alright I was sick of waiting I lost someone" Thomas tried to explain.

She laughed dryly at him "You want to talk about losing people? Coz I lost Minho too. I was in that maze a hell of a lot longer than you. I ran that mazer with him. But I also lost three others I lost the three people who went through the same shit as me while you were crying over watching brain waves" She got out of the car followed by Luke and walked up to Brenda and Jorge. She knew they heard the argument because of the way Brenda was smiling. "Too much?" She questioned.

"Nah not enough" She replied back and Luke nodded in agreement. Thomas, Newt, and Frypan walked up to them and Brenda just shook her head.

"I think whats he's trying to say is thanks for saving us," Frypan said.

"I'm sorry I didn't want to bring you into this," Thomas told his sister.

"Yeah well, your welcome but next time we do it together. Do you hear me?" She asked Thomas he nodded and looked down.

"That checkpoint back there was their last defense is that is overrun it is likely the city is too," Jorge told them.

"Yeah unless they figured some other way to keep the cranks out," Newt told them. They all turned to see what Newt was talking about. When they turned they saw a city with a large wall around it. "Funny. I spent three years trapped behind walls trying to break out and now we want to break in" Newt said.

"Yeah, it's hilarious" Frypan commented.

"Can't contain my laughter," Luke said in a monotone voice.

"Jorge, how do we get in?" Destariya asked.

"Don't look at me Fuego those walls are new. I guess that's Wicked answer for everything" He told her.

"Well, we ain't going to figure it out from here. Let's go" Brenda said while walking back to the car.
