★Amanda's POV★

Austin is back.

He's back to finish what he started.

I'm screwed.

"Are you sure?" It must be my mind playing tricks on me.

"Unfortunately, yes."

"Oh, Lord." I place the tips of my fingers on my head and slowly rub it. "I thought he was gone for good."

Zane pulls me into a hug. "Don't worry about him. If he comes near you, just call me and I'll whoop his ass."

"Then you get killed. Funny." I said sarcastically. "You seem to forget that his dad is leading one of the most fearful gangs around here."

I'm sure Joel was confused about the situation at hand.

"Who's Austin?" He asked, confused.

"Amanda's ex. One of the biggest douchebags I've met in my life and a psycho." Aliya explains.

"And he's obsessed with her. I mean obsessed in a bad way." Zane adds.

Just then, the reincarnation of the devil appears. I'll rather be in hell than be here.

"Hey, babe." He slings his arm on my shoulder.

"I'm not and will never be your babe."

"Well, you didn't say that two years ago."

"Fuck off. Aliya, let's go." We turn to leave but not be for he says-

"I know you miss me. And in due time, I'll finally claim what is mine."

That's creepy.

I need a vacation.

Today is the day I have to go to the so-called date with Joel.

He texted me saying I should be ready by 7:00 pm and I'm gonna wear a casual outfit.

It's 6:37 pm so I use my spare time to watch some TV. I hear a car pull up and I know it's Joel.

I step outside and see him leaning on his car waiting for me. I approach him and a smile is plastered on his face.

"I'm glad you could make it."

"Yeah yeah. Let's go" I make my way to the passenger seat as he goes to the driver's seat as he drives away.

After some minutes of comfortable silence...

"Where are you taking me to?"

"It's a surprise. You'll see."

"Just a hint. Please." I beg. I hate surprises with passion.

There is silence for a while.

"When will we get there?"

"Just ten more minutes."

Just then, I look around and find out that trees are surrounding us.

"Where are we?"

"Relax. I'm not gonna kill you or anything like that."

He parks the car at a clearing. Yup. He's gonna kill me.

"You like stars, right?" He asks me.

"Yeah. Why'd you ask?"

"You'll see."

I'm starting to hate those words. We start walking into the not-so thick forest. Everywhere is freaking quiet.

Something touched my leg making me shriek. I looked down and let out a sigh when I saw a twig.

We walk for some minutes and reached a cliff. The view is... Woah.

"This is damn beautiful. How did you find this place?" I'm in awe.

"I was just wandering around and I found it. Now, look up."

I looked up and saw millions and millions of stars.

A sky full of stars.

"I should be coming here more often. This is awesome."

We sit down on the grass and stayed in silence for some time. Then I saw a shooting star.

"Hey, Joel make a wish." I nudge him with my elbow.

"Nah." He refused.

"Please," I begged him. "I'll make a wish too."

"Okay okay." He closed his eyes before I close mine.

"Want to tell me your wish?"I persuaded.

"Nope. It's meant to be a secret."

I pout childishly. "You're a big baby." He teased me.

"I'm not. Shut up."

We sat in comfortable silence. I wonder why he refused to make a wish when I asked him to.

"Hey, Joel." He answered with a 'hmm'.

"Why didn't you make a wish when I asked you to?" I asked curiously.

He stayed quiet for some time. Then he let out a sigh.

"The shooting star..... some people say it's real and others say it's just part of most fairytale stories. But as for me, I'm not sure."

"Why do you say so?" I asked him but he seems to have a faraway look in his eyes.

"You won't understand.... never mind." He says quickly.

"If you say so..."

I'm quite confused but I won't persuade him.

"Joel?"

"Yeah?"

"Just so you know, I've forgiven you."

He looks at me and grins. He surprises me when he hugs me.

"Thank you." He whispers.

"For?"

"Forgiving me. God knows how lonely I was without you."

"You seriously need more friends. Would you like to meet mine?"

"Sure. Why not?"

"Okay."

So that's how the night went. And let me say, it was awesome.
