(Last Chapter)
Renjun's P.O.V:
Feeling like I was going nowhere without knowing where he even is, I abruptly stopped to catch my breath.

An idea popped into my head as I quickly fetched out the small bell from my pocket. Swaying it in my fingers and making a light ringing sound, I waited but he didn't appear. I grew worried after the third ring, knowing that he wouldn't purposely ignore me.

Figuring that worrying wasn't going to help, I calmed myself down to let the thoughts come in.

Flashback:
"You always disappear at certain times, where do you go?"

"Either finding my friend or at the cafe."

      Finally having some clues as to where to find him, I didn't know where his friend is so I took the second option and started walking without wasting any time.

     I was almost two streets away when a loud crash was heard. There laying on the roadside was a person that had been hit by a car, blocking the whole road.

     The passersby saw and started crowding around, I cursed in my head when they blocked the way.

     Knowing that it was going to take forever for them to clean up the site, I took up the courage and decided to use the shortcut which was through alleyways.

     Everything was going according to plan at first until the alleyways started to get darker and darker one after the other. I could feel eyes watching me so I quickened my pace and abruptly halted when I saw dark figures without facial features. Upon spotting me, they spointed their weapons. Not even giving them time to react, I bolted.

The cafe is just infront of me but there was no one around which was odd. I could feel that something was wrong.

Looking through the glass door, I immediately pushed it open and rushed in when I saw (M/N).

3rd Person P.O.V:

"Stop!": Renjun yelled at them and stood in front of (M/N).

"Renjun!-": he was about to argue but the younger cut him off, enough treating him like a kid.

"If you want to kill him, kill me first then.": he challenged.

"Looks like the mortal has arrived. What should we do about it?": Doyoung asked.

"Why are you defending him? What's so special about him?": Taeil asked.

"I remembered everything, and I'm not going to let him go away again.": e said truthfully and glaced at (M/N) who's shocked.

"I remember everything through that dream (M/N). It was always you all along. You've always protected me, it's my turn now.": the younger told him and glared at them.

If they plan to kill then they shall kill us both.

"Don't do anything stupid.": he said.

"Protecting someone I love is not stupid."

"So?": Renjun looked at them with a raised eyebrow.

Taeil took his time and observed them.

"You know what?": he said and snapped his fingers, erasing the rule on the book.

"Loving another person shouldn't be a rule, we can love whoever we want.": he said and nodded his head at Johnny whom gladly released the chains.

"What's wrong?": Renjun panicked when he saw the taller coughing out blood that is golden in color.

"Erase the curse.": Taeil commanded and Doyoung obeyed, healing the bruise on (M/N)'s body like it never happened.

"Why the sudden change?": (M/N) asked.

"I just don't think it should be a rule anymore. The previous judge was a psychopath.": Taeil shrugged.

"I'm glad that I didn't kill you sooner or you'll be dust by now.": Johnny jokingly said as they all laughed.

"You should head back home mortal, the night is not safe.": Taeil said.

"What's there to be scared of? I basically have god beside me right now.": Renjun replied.

"Well then...": (M/N) said in embarrassment. "We should go now, see you later old man.": (M/N) teased the older.

"I am not old!": Johnny fumed. "We are almost the same age!"

"30 years before me. Your still old.": (M/N) chuckled whilst intertwined Renjun's hands in his.

"Oh wait. I forgot something.": Taeil said before using blasting a blue orb towards Renjun.

He was about to fall but (M/N) swiftly caught him in his arms.

"Anytime time now.": (M/N) said and immediately heard a gasp.

"What the hell was that?! I felt like I just died and went to hell.": he asked.

"Uhhhh correction, that was heaven.": (M/N) said.

"HA! Told you the decorations were lame! Plus, hell is definitely more livelier.": Johnny said proudly.

"Yeah sure, with ghouls and barbarians roaming around barefeet on lava and fire.": Doyoung said sarcastically.

"Okay enough.": Taeil stopped them both from arguing. "And yes, I did kill you so that you can become one of us so welcome to the family."

Still shocked at the sudden events, Renjun's brain still couldn't register what was happening.

"I'll explain to him tomorrow. Thank again!": (M/N) waved at them before teleporting back home.

"I guess happy endings do happen huh?": (M/N) muttered.

"Yup, and I'm glad that I get to be with you in the end.": Renjun smiled before leaning his head against the taller's shoulder.

The two sat quietly at the edge of the building on the rooftop with their hands linked as they enjoyed the fireworks.

It was at the same place where (M/N) received the mission and told himself that he wouldn't fall back in love but look who's kidding now.
