Houkai - Book I

Chapter I - The Houkai

Planet Earth is the cradle of Human civilization. As civilization grew, so did the mysterious force of darkness - Which we call, The Honkai. The Honkai is destined to rival humans. To destroy human civilization. As the civilization grew, this force pushed back even harder in response.

The Honkai is the source of many disasters and nightmares - for example, Monsters that creep under your bed, sickness and plagues, and even natural disasters. They also gave birth to Herrschers, which are powerful humanoid embodiments of the will of Honkai. Their power level surpasses even the strongest of Honkai beasts (the monsters that I mentioned above). Herrschers can bend physical laws on a whim to wreak destruction to humanity. Every battle that was fought against the humans resulted in a massive number of deaths. Humanity paid dearly for every victory. 

The most remarkable event of all, should be the war against the 11th Herrshcer, The Herrscher of Binding. When the war finally ended, 70% of humanity was destroyed. 

But the Houkai was far from over.

Dr. Mei was an outstanding scientist of the Houkai in the Pre-Civilization Era. She created numerous weapons against the Houkai, such as Divine Keys, MANTIS, and the Super AI Prometheus. The Super AI Prometheus was used to prevent the outcomes of the war against the Honkai. 

However, results of the analysis were pessimistic. It is estimated that there are a total of 14 Herrschers. The 14th Herrscher would wield powers far more powerful than the rest. The 14th Herrscher will destroy humanity. The Honkai will win the war, despite the struggling humans. Humanity only had one chance/method of winning- To use the powers of defeated Herrschers. Therefore, Dr. Mei initiated project: Divine Key. This project’s main objective is to use the Cores of the defeated Herrschers to create powerful weapons.

The combination of creation and destruction, The Abyss Flower is a lance, specially crafted using the 6th Herrscher’s core - The Herrscher of Death. Cecelia Schariac, Wife of Siegfried Kaslana and Mother of Kiana Kaslana wielded it while battling the 2nd Herrscher - Sirin. Later, It was also used by the S-Rank Valkyrie of Schicksal- Durandal (Bianca Ataegina). 

The symbol of Destruction and haste, The Judgement of Shamash is a rather special weapon, crafted using the 7th Herrscher’s core - The Herrscher of Flames. As the core itself is too hot in temperature, it is split into two parts, infused within two pistols. When used to its fullest potential, It will reform into a greatsword, known as the Cleaver of Shamash. Only the blessed have the ability to use it. Without the needed abilities, the Divine Key will burn the wielder itself. 

The very sword that was used in major historical events in the East, which has the ability to control various elements; The Xuanyuan Sword, is created using the core of the 10th Herrscher. The Famed Hero of the East, Ji Xuanyuan used it to win various battles. However, she remained missing within the Nine Seas while defeating a Emperor-class Houkai beast - The Chiyou. 

The Kaslanas' Family cross- Also known as the Key of Binding - The Oath of Judah is a cross-like weapon which releases chains and spears, created by the core of the 11th Herrscher. Wielders include one of the strongest Valkyries of Schicksal - Kallen Kaslana and the girl who was created using Kallen’s DNA and 80% of an Emperor-class Honkai Beast- Thresa Apocalypse. 

Whilst the humans created the Divine Keys, the 12th Herrscher finally came into existence. She was a young human girl, with pink, smooth hair, and Azure blue eyes that shimmered with innocence. Unlike the other Herrschers, who always blow things up and kill loads of people since they started existing, she was different. Herrscher-level Honkai readings were detected within her, yet she exhibited no powers. She's completely human, in both form and thought. She showed not even a trace of malice or hatred. Had the Honkai finally changed its mind?
