I reccomend you find the audio first before listening to this. TRIGGER WARNING!
Would anyone notice, if tonight I disappeared?
Marinette was depressed and no one really knew her. Machine was all they thought of her.
Would anyone chase me and say the words that I need to hear?
'Oh, who am I kidding? For as long Lila even breathes, they're never going to say that.'
That I'm no burden, not so worthless?
Everyday, everyone would call her multiple names such as, slut, Mari-trash, worthless, bitch, asshole, bully, liar, and so much more.
Bent so much that I might break, all-consuming.
Think Marinette as a pencil. Once it's new, everyone uses it, but when a new one appears, the same pencil begins to be toyed with until someone snaps that old pencil.
So confusing, the questions that keep me awake.
Marinette questioned what would happen if she gave into suicide and what would happen if she didn't. This caused her to only get 4 hours of sleep each night.
Would anyone care, would anyone cry, if I finally stepped off of this ledge tonight?
No one would hurt themselves for Marinette. So, that increased the bliss of sweet release.
Would anything change, would you all be fine?
No one would even care if she commited suicide, and that was a proven fact. Everyone would care if Lila was the one commiting suicide, but not her.
'Cause I need a reason not to throw the fight, it might save my life.
The rivalry between the two girls would never end. She could just end the war with no opponent, and it'll save her the thought of causing environmental damage by dumping their IQ in the Siene.
Would anyone want me, if they knew what was inside my head?
Even if they knew her constant thoughts of suicide, they would encourage it.
Would anyone see me for the person I really am?
Marinette already met someone and his name was Damien Wayne and he appreciated Marinette's real self.
I won't lie, so hard to hide.
Marinette's parents even lied to her when they promised to always be with her, on top of that, she was affected with child neglect.
I've never felt worthy of love, I would give up
Damien Wayne was now her boyfriend, but she still wanted to give up life.
Everything I have, just to feel good enough.
No one understood what it felt to be depressed, your parents believe someone else other than you, bullied, and thinking of suicide.
Would anyone care, would anyone cry if I finally stepped off this ledge tonight?
Jumping off a building doesn't seem so intimidating anymore.
Would anything change, would you all be fine?
Marinette was now fully convinced that no one really would care if she jumped.
'Cause I need a reason not to throw the fight, it might save my life.
It wasn't about the bullying anymore, it was all about the attention.
If you're dying inside, sick of being alive
Everyone was convinced that she was fine and she enjoyed hurting someone. That may be true, except that may be some people.
Let me in, let me share in your pain
Pain no longer was a fear. It was a passion for depression, after all, you're worthless, and everyone you love or care about couldn't care less about your problems. That's a you problem. That was Marinette's toxic logic.
From my lungs through the dark, spoken straight from the heart, let me give you a reason to stay.
Damien would say to her, only to no avail. He also said, "Everything's going to be ok." He clearly never had depression at all, that was obvious for Marinette, and that just made it even worse. He didn't know what she was going through.
If you're out there still lying awake, if you're out there still wondering would anyone care, would anyone cry, if you finally gave up and turned out the light?
Marinette's toxic thoughts were 99.9% winning and 1.1% percent of her positive thoughts gave up. Clearly she was going to do it on Monday. Today was Sunday. Might as well. Monday's are always the worst, after all.
The world would be changed if you left it behind, Marinette!
Her positive thoughts and Tikki exclaimed. Marinette ignored them. They clearly didn't know how depression worked.
You can't be replaced!
Her thoughts yelled out to her.
No! Tonight is the night!
Marinette screamed at her thoughts angrily. Those thoughts were a nuisance. But, in the afterlife they can't bother her anymore 'cause she's dead, isn't she?
You take back your life!
Everyone in the Duat pitied her and attempted to persuade Marinette to talk to Osiris for an Ankh. Marinette simply replied with," No. Then all I went through would be for nothing."
Take back your life!
Paris grieved as they soon found out that Lila lied to them and they tossed Marinette out of their life. If only they listened to her. No one in Paris was happy. And Marinette couldn't care less because, they only cared when she was gone.
Take back your life!
Damien was there for her, and yet he couldn't help her. He could only think that it was his entire fault.
Take back your life!
If only everyone was more considerate of her feelings, she wouldn't have commited suicide.
