"Eleven times?" Blue gasped. Beside him, Black gagged. They had been the last to arrive and the only ones to not see the body.
"Yes," I nodded, "eleven times."
"Stabbed eleven freaking times," Green muttered. "This keeps getting better and better."
"Great, enough with the stabbed comments," Orange snapped, startling everyone.
I watched him with slight concern.
He rubbed his temples, hair unkept and shaggy, clothes rumpled, and hands shaking. "We need to figure out who did this, not sit here babbling about Yellow, who is unfortunately beyond our help."
His sharp amber eyes scanned us all. He was definitely the biggest threat here.
"So, any proposals?"
Yeah, he'd need to be removed later on if the imposters had any chance of winning. I suppose that I should warn him about that.
"I do," I said, striving to keep my voice calm. Purple was already freaked out to her max, Cyan was looking awfully pale, Orange looked ready to keel over from exhaustion, and Red looked extremely uneasy. No need to add more drama with facial expressions.
"Well, what?" Blue asked.
"It was Red."
...
"WHAT?!!!" Red practically screamed.
"Why?" Orange demanded.
"Huh?" Purple squeaked.
"Hmm," Lime murmured.
"Why is everyone blaming me every cosmetic time!?" Red screeched.
Green eyed Red. "You wouldn't have to freak out if you were innocent."
"Oh I'm sorry, but I'm the once who almost got ejected LAST TIME! I'm already sick of being accused and constantly looking over my shoulder fearing something bad is going to happen!"
"White, would you explain?"
"Well, if I'm correct, I need to verify something. Purple, you were supposed to be with Red, fixing the Security room door. What happened during the time you were fixing the wires?"
"Umm. I left once we couldn't figure it out. I joined Cyan and Lime immediately after."
"Right, that means besides me, Red was the only other person who was all alone, giving him the perfect opportunity to strike."
I was met with silence.
"How do we know it wasn't you," Red said, though his voice was shaking. The realization that he could be dead within the hour was settling in.
"How would I have gotten there?" White questioned. "You would have noticed me because you would have still been there, since the blood was mostly dried, indicating how much time has passed."
Red leaned against the table. "This is complete madness. By the looks of things I am so screwed." He gave an unsteady laugh. "What a great way to go. Framed for murder."
We exchanged glances.
"The murder is supposed to mentally unsteady," Green said uncertainly.
"But, is that proof?" Cyan whispered.
"Well," Black said, squaring her shoulders. "We have to start somewhere. Sacrifices have to be made, right?"
"Right," Lime said. "I'm sorry Red, but I have to protect my baby sister no matter what. And the only way to do that is to stop the killers. I vote you imposter."
