I found myself walking through a forest in winter, my nightgown on and my hair a mess, the snow cold on my bare feet as my breath could be seen like smoke on a bright blue day. I moved slowly as if in a trans, my mind blank and I can't remember how I got there but I didn't stop. I heard a distant cry from a fox as if calling me forward farther into the woods "so cold."
I fell to my knees unable to walk as my feet went numb and my vision went blurry but before I blacked out a white fox stood in front of me, its yellow eyes stayed with me as my face hit the cold snow.
I finally gained consciousness and my body felt warm. I looked around and I was in some type of cabin. I was on the floor next to a fire. My body felt heavy as I tried to stand. I looked down at my hands but they weren't there. Instead two furry white paws were in their place. I jumped back with a high-pitched yip. A young couple ran into the room they looked worried i saw a water bowl near me and ran over i looked in and a fox face showed in the reflection i jumped back from the water bowl as the man got on his hand rubbing his index finger and thumb together. I backed away from him as the girl pulled him off the ground. I couldn't understand what they were saying.
The man opened the door and I ran out the cold air sliced through my throat as my paws hit the snow. I looked back at the couple before I took off into the forest. All I thought about was getting home to mom and dad. They must be so worried. I stopped dead in my tracks as I reached my home town. "I can't go back there like this, I'll be killed." I took a step back and bowed my head in sadness and turned back to the forest. "How do I change back?" I made a small den in the snow and laid down my eyes clouded with confusion and pain. I laid my head on my paws and closed my eyes falling into a deep sleep
