(Our baby boys from To The Top: Season 2 <3)

Nishinoya couldn't process anything Shoyo had just said. It was like someone shot a fishing hook through his heart and ripped it out of his chest, making him unable to move or function at all. His whole world began to crash down. The beautiful world he once knew is shrouding in darkness.

What did he say? he repeated to himself.

Shoyo stood there, tears streaming down his face. His eyes flooded with guilt and despair, reaching out to comfort the distorted angel.

Nishinoya just stepped back from the ginger's reach, not saying a word. The boy stopped as his eyes softened, remorse clawing at his heart. Suddenly, the angel disappeared, fleeing the situation.

The boy muttered something softly as another tear slipped down his cheek.

— — —

The angel was flying as far as his wounded wings would take him. The tears never seeming to stop as he glides through the starry sky. Why does everything hurt? Why does it feel like everything around me is breaking? .. Why? Why did it have to be this way?! .. Why is hope so cruel? .. I feel like—

Nishinoya suddenly spiraled to the ground, crashing into the dirt after his wing hit a branch and lost his balance. The angel didn't move and just lied there in the mud, unable to do anything but cry.

I feel like I can't even live anymore.

The broken angel began to think back on all the memories and laughs he shared with the ginger he had fallen so hard for. The weeks he spent, getting ice cream with him. The hours spent cuddling on the couch watching scary movies. Listening to the musical melody of Shoyo's laughter every time he asked something silly. All of it stinging Nishinoya to the deepest parts of his soul.

Is it because he is in love with someone else? Maybe, is it because I'm an angel? .. Or possibly.. It's because I'm a male..

A male angel..

Nishinoya forced his upper body off the ground and got to his knees, tears still streaming.

That has to be it. That must be why everything hurts so bad! It's because of me! It's... all because... of my existence... as an angel...

Thoughts began to swirl around in his head, how can he get Shoyo to love him? Is it even possible for a human to love an angel? If it is...

"I'll do anything..."

Suddenly, a thought popped into the angel's head. It was crazy, and stupid. But he just promised himself he would do anything. So, the angel got to his feet and scanned the area. A narrow road came into view behind a thin line of trees, catching Nishinoya's attention.

Taking in a deep breath, Nishinoya gathered himself together and began stumbling towards the road. His wings felt like they got crushed by a truck, his legs felt numb, he could collapse at any moment. But he refrained and kept marching towards the empty street.

After reaching the trees, the angel fell to his knees, huffing harshly. The amount of pain he was in was unbearable, he wanted to scream. He wanted to cry. He wanted to be back home with Shoyo watching a movie while he ranted on about how much he loved volleyball. How much he loved the sting after he hit the ball. How he would get up right after and beg to play.

"It's not fair!" Nishinoya wailed as he pounds his fist onto the ground.

Panting from the bottled anger and frustration, Nishinoya finally got to his feet and began trailing down the musty gravel road.

— — —

After walking for what seemed like hours, Nishinoya stopped dead in his tracks, scanning the nature around him. "Found you." He muttered, his eyes falling to the middle of the crossroads.

He stammered towards the center and stared at the spot, starting second guessing himself. Is this really something I should do? I know it's something I want to do... But.. Is it right?.. No, I need to stop contemplating! I promised on everything I would get back to Shoyo! I promised myself it will all be okay.. And taking a deep breath, Nishinoya reached for one of his wings and plucked off a feather. Groaning loudly, he huffed back the urge to scream. Not that anyone would hear him anyway, but he still resisted.

"So much for that band-aid saying..." He murmured, petting the small section of his wing, calming the pain.

He then looked at the slightly blood tipped feather, furrowing his eyebrows in determination. He lowered his knees to the ground and roughly began to dig a hole in the gravel and dirt. Placing the raven colored feather at the bottom of the hole, he pushed the access dirt on top of it, patting it down. It's not the same as a human's, but it's a part of my soul, so it should work.. Hopefully.

Nishinoya stood to his feet and nervously rubbed his hands together. He scanned around the area, waiting ever so unforbaringly. "Come on, you filthy creature! Come out and face me, damn it!" He snapped.

After a few long seconds of silence a voice spoke from behind him. "Now is that anyway to talk to a lady?" It said sinisterly.

The angel whipped around towards the girl, though he could hardly call that thing a girl at all. Nishinoya only ever heard about demons from Daichi and Sugawara, but they never went into details. But one thing was for sure, the thing was hideous to look at. Snarling fangs that could tear away at his soul, soulless black eyes that lead to a void of nothingness, wings of bone that have been ripped and broken. It took the form of its host, but it was like a nightmare morphed and rotted into reality. Like a zombie that Shoyo showed on TV.

Nishinoya looked away. It's true the vessel was a beautiful girl with flowing black air, ocean blue eyes that fit perfectly behind her thin, rosey glasses. And what made her so beautiful was the distinct beauty mark right under her lips. Her clothes were casual, nothing like what demons prefer to wear. Just a caramel fitted skirt with a black sweater top, a tan trench coat draping over her shoulders, making it obvious she was recently possessed. Poor girl was probably minding her own business at school when that demon possessed her.

"Hey, what's with the silent treatment? I get you're checking me out, but that isn't why you really came here, is it? The angel, Nishinoya..." She said, her lips curling into a devilish smile.

Nishinoya furrowed his eyebrows, "No. It's not."

"Then no need to be shy, spill it." She said eagerly.

Letting out a soft, rough sigh, Nishinoya looked back at her, his eyes flaring with determination.

"Make me human."
