Flames.
Fire.
The burning sensation across his back was what kept him awake.
His mother who he saw crushed just minutes prior was all he could see when he closed his eyes.
He cried. He didn't know what else to do. Where were the heroes? Where was the help? Where was that once comforting aura that surrounded the thought of being alive? Now all he wanted was to die and get it over with.
Izuku could only imagine what heaven would be like and prayed he was there with his mother.
Another loud noise rose above the crackling of the fire, the bashing of a door.
Once.
Twice.
A third time and the front door came down, flooding the apartment with firefighters looking for people.
He heard yelling and one of them was waving the others over to his mother's body.
No one saw him.
He couldn't scream, he couldn't yell.
He couldn't call for their help and let them know that he was alive.
More tears just came out, only to evaporate by the flames.
His vision was getting blurry as he tried to summon the last bit of his strength.
He reached his hand out towards where the firefighters were exiting, just barely brushing against the TV before his vision went black.
