Darkness... It was so common, so usual to him. So was pain, so was sadness. He felt a bit of relief in his mind that it would be over soon. Yet, something in his core could only ache with this familiarity. His eyes awakening it seemed to not black, but gentle white.
This white... where had he seen, felt it before? It seemed familiar, this familiar warmth. Quickly in his eyes they began to perceive color. Orange, yellow, red, blue, teal, grey, gold.
Purple.
That purple color drew him closer, in the white void, he couldn't care less where he was going as he followed it. As he moved through it more color shone, flowing lines that surrounded the white leading to black. The warmth stayed, however it felt slowly sickening, dreary, sad.
As he continued on, the aura wouldn't change, yet he continued to follow the colors. Looking to the color he began to recognize what they were. Wisps. Spirits long gone, guiding him somewhere. Maybe heaven, hell, he didn't care.
"Am I dead?" Sebastian would stutter to the wisp,
'Not exactly Sebastian'
"How do you know my name?"
"We have been watching you for quite a while. We are the beings Erick gets his power from, we are the ones that have kept him stable for so long."
"Then why are you all here?... Is Erick... Is Erick here too?"
The wisp with that seemed to turn away, silent subtle till it rang softly.
"Erick has been gone a long time, Sebastian..." the wisp rang, "He tried his hardest, but didn't make it, at least not entirely." they continued as the guided them through the darkness to a glow of white light, light so faint and frail, He could hardly recognize the aura. Yet that feeling was so familiar he had to believe it could only be him.
"This is all his wife was able to do for him before she fell, keep the last of his life alive... but it will soon become corrupt too, as will all of us. He is suffering, but maybe... you can at least give him some peace...maybe you can both heal..." The spirit rang as it lowered the light, releasing it from the pink aura as it surrounded it. Taking shape, Sebastian could not believe his eyes as he saw the other before him. Was this it? Could he finally have peace?
'Se-bas-tian? What are- what are you doing here?' They murmured before him, voice faint, distorted almost as they looked to the other, Sebastian still couldn't believe his eyes before clutching onto the other in an embrace, no words as they could only sob, hugging the other as Erick could only respond by hugging them back.
"Your here... you're really here..." Sebastian could only murmur in between sobs. He wanted to clutch the other and never let go, he didn't want to let go again.
'Sebastian... why are you here? You shouldn't be here...it's not safe...' Erick would reply softly, pulling away gently, but clutched tightly by the other.
"I can't live without you Erick.. I chose to stay with you... I'm not losing you..."
'Sebastian... You can't... I don't want you to be a part of this, I'm not here its not me anymore...' He replied, suddenly the feeling of dread waying over them as the darkness and feeling of sludge with shrieks rang out. 'You have to get out, you can't be a part of this.'
Sebastian kept shaking his head, hugging the other, however the void, this darkness pulled and drained, before his own eyes Erick was fading with it as his remaining light was going out, panicking and not wanting to lose him he didn't leave refused to find a way out.
"No Erick, I want to stay with you!" He sobbed as the void engulfed and whisked away his tears. "Your all I have left! Take me with you, please don't go!"
'I am sorry Sebastian... but my time has long past... I can't be here for you any longer.'
"Why can't you? revive yourself as you did me, change time do something!"
'I can't... my magic is gone... as it was before. I have to leave now'
"Please Erick, please... Don't leave me alone again!"
'I'll never leave you, Sebastian. I never will.' Erick said as he embraced him, almost intangible, all but that familiar warmth surrounding him.
'I'll always be in here, beside you, always... even if you can't see me anymore, know I will be with you. My magic flows in you and through you, therefore we shall never be truly apart.'
"B-But... what is to be left of use then? of everything?! What's the point of me being alive if you aren't here alongside me?!" Sebastian could only shout, hushing down as he began to cry softly unto the other, shaking as he felt the other tighten around and then loosen around him like a warm breeze.
'That is for you to decide... you must take the lead on your future this time my dear, for both of us. Don't forget you still have your friends; you still have your family. You are stronger than your pain. It is time to let go, it is time for me to go'
"Erick please! Don't go yet! I can't do this without you!"
'Yes, you can. As I told you before, I gave your life, but it is you who shall shape it, and I know that you will do just fine without me' he said with soft words.
Giving him one small kiss on the forehead as that warmth faded, turning into such a subtle feeling as the void. The remaining tangible warmth around him seemed to fade, Sebastian falling onto his knees as he could only sob quietly.
Alone.
